Not surprising. Denver was a trendy SB favorite. They gave up a ton of cash and picks to get Wilson and they lose to the 0-3 Raiders? His gaffe settling for the super long FG and losing also showed a he’s over his head sign.

It's stupid, but the thing that gets me is how he burns all his timeouts on opposing kneel downs.  I remember the AI in Madden used to do it years ago and they fixed it because nobody actually does that in real life...

Florio was talking yesterday about how the NFL and college schedules don't mesh well anymore. College has moved their stuff up, NFL has moved back one week with the extra game. He felt like it Rhule was going to bolt for a college job, he needed to do it before Thanksgiving.

He probably wasn't okay with taking a job where Rhule having final say. He wasn't wrong.

Yeah but he’d probably have more job security. GMs have a lot longer leash than coaches across the league but Irsay is the kinda person to be a hurricane when it comes to firing people.

*if he would have been hired here even if he didn’t like Rhule

Ole Scott was all over Hacketts balls last year🤫😂

1) It's still early in his first season.

2) One of the reasons Scott liked him so much was his connections to be able to build a great staff. Connections that for whatever reason, he didn't use.

3) The only way to never miss is to never have a take on any player, coach or GM. If we're honest, we've all had misses. I used to get accused of having Craigasms because I thought Dameyune Craig would be what Cam ended up being, and I have to admit I missed big time on Justin Fields. It happens.

In part because he had the connections to hire a world-class staff. Instead he went heavy on less experienced guys and followed that up by drinking the Russell Wilson Kool-Aid.

Mind you, he's still only in his first year, has already admitted to some mistakes and worked to correct them. That's pretty rare from an NFL head coach.

I'll wait and see how that story plays out. Hell, people had Dan Campbell and Nick Sirianni pegged as busts early on too.

He wasn't.

Dodds has this thing where he insists he won't take a GM job until he feels it's absolutely the right situation. He doesn't want to risk joining a bad organization and winding up fired or disgraced.

Avoiding the Matt Rhule controlled Panthers was probably a wise move.

That said, those standards might make it pretty difficult for him to actually get a job.

Frank Reich was a beneficiary of his coaching staff. They left, he struggled mightily. I just dont think the Colts are in a situation where he can survive another losing season.

All true, but again miles better than Rhule at coaching in the NFL.
