I've seen nothing this season that would lead me to believe that the OC and HC are having any issues whatsover.... /s

It does not matter who he picks at OC, who he picks at QB, the results are the same. It’s Matt Rhule….and he is trying to micromanage people to fit his system. The system sucks, and he has had more than enough time/ability to select who he wants on the team. When you get worse results in year three it’s obviously to everyone involved who the issue is

The Wilks mismatch is a good comparison. Watching the defense get diced up in zone is causing a lot of the second half defensive issues. In all four games the D plays lights out in the first half, then opposing OC adjusts starts playing short to mid, and forces these really long defensive drives, which don't always yield points, but add to an already tired defense.

As for McAdoo, I've not seen any compelling defense of this offense, except to say that if the players were perfect 100% of the time, there would be scoring, but it would take a long time to happen, and the overall output would not match with actual modern NFL offenses. And no players can play perfect football. Chiefs and Bills still make lots of mistakes, but when it goes right, the offense puts up good drives without requiring 100 completion rates and perfect run-game blocking every down.

There's a reason why these coaching mismatches occur.

Matt Rhule doesn't understand pro level football.

His knowledge of the game isn't deep enough to comprehend scheme differences, playing styles, or anything else more layered than good coach / bad coach, good player / bad player.

It's the same reason why when he's asked specific questions, his only answers are things like "we've got to be better", "they've got to step up", "we were ranked this high", etc.

He doesn't get it, and he's not going to.

Rhule appears to lack a vision for what he wants this team to be. One season he wants us to run the ball a lot and play smash mouth football. Then he fires the OC for being too pass happy. Now he wants to pass more and move away from the run game. This guy is all over the place.

I mean Rhule didn’t want McAdoo.   He declined him 2x for lesser roles.  McAdoo was simply all he could get when he had to hire an OC.  The league casted him out from playcalling because he was horrible.  I’m sure Rhule is thrilled his OC sucks and is worse than the newb he fired.

and Rhule keeps hiring OCs that go against what he “does” and has had success.  He needs a Mike Shula type.  But he can’t even follow his own words

The Process" proved to be nothing more than a sales pitch.

This is true. Why are you going to pass on a guy for lesser roles and then offer him a coordinator job once your back is against the wall? Rhule just knew Tepper would be impressed with McAdoo's resumé because Tepper doesn't know what he's doing as an NFL owner either. It's pretty much just that simple. Tepper challenged Rhule to find a "superstar" OC and Rhule hired the most impressive resumé he could get to take the job with literally not a bit more thought put into it than that.
