So...just curious.   Tepper said the HC gets to pick his staff.  But no way that Rhule hired a guy that was set to replace him.

??????

There were three coaches brought in with previous HC experience.  I think Rhule saw the writing on the wall.

I strongly suspect that Rhule was voluntold to bring in coaches with significant NFL experience in order to keep his job, or perhaps with the understanding that year 3 would be it if the results didn't improve notably. At no point prior did he ever adapt, so it seems unlikely he'd suddenly do it of his own accord.

Yup, Rhule had to get NFL guys in to try to prove that Brady/Blackburn were holding him back, Tepper wanted NFL guys in place for this interim HC situation. So McAdoo/Tabor make sense as coordinators. The thing that wasn't "necessary" but happened was Wilks in with the secondary. I gotta think Tepper said Wilks is your CB coach deal with it

J Stew should be a broadcaster for the team. I'm not a podcast listener but I may consider listening to his. Those other guys though.

Go listen to his BLeav podcast. Dude drops some serious knowledge. I've gone back and listened to most of his podcasts from the past year just because I like hearing him talk football.

I wouldn't be so sure it was Tepper who chose Wilks.  He may have suggested or even issued a directive to someone else that a competent nfl coach be hired.  Someone with nfl head coaching experience but not specifically who that must be.

Now having said that, I would not be surprised if he also didn’t give a second direct to a certain individual to look for a possible replacement for the person that is the reason for why he had to issue the first directive.

But that just me.

Yeah, the only reason I went a little conspiracy theory on that is that Stew kinda alluded to Wilks being brought in incase this exact scenario played out as it has. Stew maybe was just generalizing it but worded it like it was intentional. Tepper didn't seem to know we had 3 NFCS championships in a row or that Charlotte had Concerts before Garth Brooks so it probably wasn't his idea lol

I hope Fitt did, and wasn't responsible for the idea of the QB trades. His FA pickups were solid so I think he should get the benefit of the doubt, especially after hearing about Rhule even fuging with the social media team. Also I remember the Darnold thing stemmed from Snow saying he looked like Stafford on tape lol. Stafford has been playing like Darnold this year so maybe he was on to something
