"shock the world"

Looking at this roster, this coaching staff and the qb's on this team in the preseason and not seeing a complete trainwreck is on you.  Anyone with a brain could see this happening.   All the optimism in the world,  all the unicorns and rainbows, all the supposed fandom wasnt going to change reality.  This was (another) wasted year from the jump.

I wonder who in the building couldn't wait to leak this garbage mission statement to Jones. In the end, Rhule was not "OOU"

My guess is Steve Drummond is JJ’s source. I imagine they developed a good working relationship when JJ was with the Observer and Drummond was the Comms guy

Why the fug did this not come out sooner? Like the urban meyer crap last year. Also is Tepper really this absent or did he believe this is truly how you coach an NFL team?

I’m surprised things didn’t leak sooner, but I understand it. Folks don’t want to lose their job and potentially be blackballed in the league. As bad as Rhule’s situation was it wasn’t nearly as toxic as Urbs.

But again, you could see how dysfunctional it was from the outside which is what makes it so much more insane that Tepper let it stretch on for as long as he did.  Even the "DBO" poo...  it was clear he was trying to implement that and emphasize it as part of our culture but then quickly saw, not even after camp, but during camp, how ill-received it was and abandoned it.  Then you see the details behind it, like this and it's just incredible it went on for as long as it did.

Anyone of us could walk in that building and do the exact stuff he did, and in fact, I believe some here with their football knowledge, would actually produce more wins and a better culture...  point being, all that rah-rah poo means jackshit if there is no substance behind it.  It's like he went hunting and came back with the game's skeleton but never explained to anyone where the meat was.  poo just doesn't work and the more you implement poo and then abandon it, the more people will lsee you for the buffoon you are.

This stuff reads like any bad sales manager I’ve ever had. Most often the people in charge of leading other people have zero clue on how to actually do it and generate results.

They often mask their insecurities by regurgitating the “tried and true” sales method philosophies that have failed miserably dating back long before them.

You want a good head coach?  Get someone who relates to the players, someone who knows how they think and why they think that way. That someone is Demeco Ryans.

The only difference I'm seeing is the physical assault and publicly threatening jobs aspect...  but aside from those, Rhule actually seemed to be more toxic IMO, and the environment he created and fostered was able to fester for a lot longer.  We knew it was bad, but the fact this went on for two and a half years is insane.

    • This draft is 2023 all over again, it's not hard to see. QB's who don't grade out as high first round prospects while at the same time, the following draft class looks to be loaded with elite QB prospects. Drafting a QB just because you need one (or making a bad trade to make said draft pick), when there isn't one worthy of that draft pick, is how you ruin franchises, just look at us right now.
    • I upgraded to the S24+ a few weeks back. Very happy with it.
    • LOL... Yet again proving you can't look below anything than what you see on the surface Mock drafts ARE NOT draft grades They are what people think will happen.  They are mocking teams taking QB's in the top 5 of the draft because that's just historically how drafts go regardless of the grades on the QBs.  Almost every draft expert, even those mocking QB's going high, have said time and time again that none of these QB's actually grade out as those type of picks. This is again, where I say you don't like to actually read what I have to say, because I already explained it. 2022 the exact same thing happened, mock drafts had guys like Pickett and Willis going in the Top 5 because that's just what teams usually do, but GM's listened to their prospect grades and knew they weren't worth taking that high, so they didn't. It's not to say QB's won't go that high this year, but it's to say that they aren't graded out as elite QB prospects.   And yes, I've never said I'm not a T-Mac homer. But me being that doesn't change that he will be the highest graded offensive player in this year's draft, at a position we haven't been able to solve since we lost Smitty.  Taking him makes all the sense in the world, my bias aside.
