Welp… Stroud is the guy, right?

Lol but seriously, we will have the #1 pick and a QB will be taken. I dunno if it’s Stroud but that’s where I would place my bet.

We have compiled more day 2 picks so what will the plan be? Assuming we really are shopping Shaq, we have to grab a LB. TE is also a need, but I’m not sure we wouldn’t address that on FA this year. Could we target a day 2 RB? I don’t like Hubbard and Foreman is fairly one dimensional. We need another DE.

As bad as we are, I actually really do like this team. We are 2-3 pieces of having a really strong defense imo. What we lack across the entire staff is coaching. Get some NFL caliber play callers and then defense is really good.

Offensively, I do have more questions, but I feel our line has FINALLY been addressed. Inserting a rookie behind this line is much easier than what we had in the past decade. I don’t think we trade DJ unless he demands it. But even so, I dunno if we have a good #2 WR. I feel like we have DJ and multiple guys in the #3 WR range. So after round 1 where do you think this team looks to go? Having a few day 2 picks makes it interesting. What say you?

I realize part of this may well depend on the incoming staff, but we have months of nothing but speculation at this point. It’s an oddly exciting time to be a Panthers fan knowing a #1 pick at QB will generate a lot of interest and possibility, but damn if this season isn’t excruciatingly painful.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
