PFF grades from Week 7 win over Buccaneers

Assuming Corbett and BC legitimately had poor showings (big asterisk with PFF): it kinda makes sense considering they had a new Center playing beside them for the first time this season.  Might have just been some typical miscommunications/miscues which are natural when you haven't had the time to gel with the new guy next to you.  I'd expect them to bounce back in the coming weeks.

When the dopamine rush of "haha panthers  player has high number" passes I always gotta ask: What do these numbers mean? I get how the process works and there is value to their obviously subjective takes on these players but...does it really mean anything? Do these grades really mean a lot besides "this player is consistent" in an 11 on 11 sport? Why does anyone even care?

They are something interesting to talk about, not much else.

16. CB CJ Henderson: 57.2
17. DE Yetur Gross-Matos: 56.0
18. DT Daviyon Nixon: 54.6
19. LB Damien Wilson: 54.2
20. CB Donte Jackson: 48.9

Jackson and Henderson stay getting cooked.  When Horn gets back, we should feature Horn, Taylor Jr. and then if we have to, either Donte or CJ.  Id rather have Donte because at least he will thump in the run game sometimes.

I really think Henderson is just a confidence issue. He is typically right there in position and he panics or doesn’t turn his head to make the play. I want him to keep getting reps despite his struggle. Little changes and he will have some big plays.

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
