I'd take a strong veteran mentor for our top 10 pick rookie LT over a conditional late round pick. What are we gonna do, draft another long snapper?

Icky was never going to bust   Who wa s Gross' s mentor?  Did he have one?  Did you ever hear of bundling picks?  Did we not draft a he'll of a kicker once upon a time not so many years ago late in the draft who is now one of the best for another team?

I think Campen is doing just fine. Erving would not be missed.

He is. But there's more to being an NFL player than just the Xs and Os and on-field technique. Mentors are a good thing for kids trying to learn how to be professionals while also dealing with being newly made millionaires.

But muh 5th rounder for ERV!!!

You have to forgive me, Im a draft whore. It does much sense to keep him, even if its only for Icky. You can also look at it form this side too, If a team signs him, the panthers are in line for a decent comp pick as well(i bet).

Still alllll that said, I would still take a 5th and tell Icky to text Erv.....

I honestly think his value is more along the lines of a conditional 7th. Hence why I'd rather keep him.

Mentorship is not a part of his contract.  He's overrated and overpaid.  His replacement was just signed and now it's up to Campen to get him ready should he be needed.  Ikem has a backup already in Christensen.  Any of the remaining backups can play guard.

You're not getting out from under the contract. I'd rather have the mentorship over the conditional 7th.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
