I've already conceded the Division to Carolina.

What a lousy loss to the Isles but it's not like my Devils didn't have their chances.

Oh well.    Better get ready for Devils/Rags from my end.

You guys may be facing the Pens, I think.

Going on record now, Canes win tomorrow they win the division.

A 5 point lead with two games in hand and the team chasing you only has 8 games left… the Devils would probably have to go 7-1 to have a chance.

117 is currently the magic number for the metro. As the highest number jersey can achieve is 116.

Half of jersey’s schedule is Vs current standings playoff teams. 2 Vs. X, 3 vs. in the hunt.

2 of Carolina’s is Vs. Current standings playoff teams. No Vs. X(currently) but 7/10 are against still in the hunt teams.

We’ll see how the magic number adjust by this weekend.

Say...uhh....

That was not a good loss for you guys last night.

Losing in Regulation to the Wings with seconds remaining   OOF!

And combine that with my Devils beating the Rags in regulation?

Things are starting to tighten up a little.

I said I conceded the division but if this keeps up, that might change.  😂

Canes are still in control, though....but this latest loss does them no favors.

Well when you conceded I wasn’t about to. Canes have been known to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory as well as vice versa.

I'm pretty sure I stated the Canes would lose the division lead after last weekend.

I was off by a week. They could lose it after this weekend.

Oh well.

My expectations are low. Even with Svech, my expectations would have been the same. The same late season woes are rearing their ugly head.

Who would have though the panthers would have put more emphasis on the off-season than the Canes w/ Dundon/DW.

Rangers lost last night!

Any time the Rangers lose I am happy, I don't care where they are in the standings. But, it was an OT loss, so they still picked up a point on Carolina.

That being said, I think they are fairly inconsequential at this point. However, if they keep losing and the Canes follow suit, they could be a first round matchup.

    • Former league executive and current NFL.com analyst Marc Ross recently named his top second-year breakout candidates for the upcoming campaign. Ross includes Legette, who may be helped out by his team's latest first-round selection. He writes: Legette had a slow start to his NFL career, catching 49 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns last season. Some of the struggles can be tied to his own growing pains -- he had eight drops on 81 targets, according to Pro Football Focus -- but he had also had to navigate the quarterback shuffle between Bryce Young and Andy Dalton early in Dave Canales' first season leading the Panthers. Canales recently said he believes Carolina has a DK Metcalf-like talent in Legette, who had foot surgery this offseason but was cleared to resume work in early April, and that having a full offseason alongside Young, who took a significant step forward in 2024, could lead to a breakout result in 2025. I anticipate it will also help that Carolina invested another first-round pick in a wide receiver, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan, to complement Legette in the pass game. McMillan's presence, however, could take some pressure off Legette—who may be able to roam around in a more natural playmaking role. With the 6-foot-4 All-American likely to take on the bulk of the volume from Young, Legette should have some cleaner shots to break out downfield and in the box score.     https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/06/panthers-wr-xaiver-legette-top-breakout-candidates-2025/83475176007/?taid=681a4610ede05d000149b376&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
    • my understanding is a big time throw, could be a 5-10 yard slant to Adam Thielen given AT isn't going to separate.
