Well, you know, I'd think that all of us should be Corral cheerleaders, but what do I know...?

Matt Leblanc Whatever GIF

I like him, but I'm not throwing my unyielding support behind him being owed a starting chance.

I'm most likely unnecessarily lumping you in the the Rippdingle guy and a few others.  They're giving the idea of generally supporting Corral and hoping for the best with him a bad look.

There is a possibility with Corral but it's very unlikely. I'll still support him through his rehab though because at the end of the day he is a Panther. Plus in the event he looks promising we can flip him if need be. But all the struggles with Rhule aside he looked truly bad in preseason there's no way around it. We'll see I would love to see him prove people wrong and I would gladly eat crow.

If we draft a QB in the first round his chances of being a long term starter are pretty much zero.
Even if the rookie has to sit for a year and Corral balls out we ain’t gonna start him over our 1st round QB in the long term.
That is the reality of 1st vs 3rd.
1st will be given a very long leash. 3rd will need to show ability immediately or he is gone.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we try to trade Corral if he starts in 2023 and plays well.

I like Corral too. He has good tools and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. He has an uphill battle, but he has talent.

Most players (period) fail. Any round. Any position. It’s the highest level of the sport.

Some people want to masturbate in “I told you so’s” so talking poo about Corral is statistically solid for future back patting.

He does deserves a shot and will get one.
but there was a reason he fell to the 3rd rd in what was touted the weakest QB class in almost a decade.
I think he’ll develop down the road into a good backup though.

I hope that he gets a chance. Honestly we never would've drafted him, or needed to, had we drafted Fields, but that's another story...

The thing is though, there is a lesson with Fields: you should not jump the gun and draw definitive conclusions early about players because they all have talent; you just have to put them into the best situation to succeed (play to their strengths and all that jazz...).

Man I wish Corall would have stayed healthy this year. This would have been the perfect time to prove himself. But as much as people might like him, this year was about the worst combo of events for him. The Coach that drafted him, in order to appease the owner was fired. We WILL take one of the top 3 QB's and likely sign a vet QB to mentor him.

Corall, will be the 3rd string QB and constantly on the roster bubble.

I wish that were not true, he worked his entire life to get here, but those breaks are life.

Honestly his BEST case, is that he gets playing time in the preseason and looks good and another team with a starting vet QB trades for him.

it was shocking that we passed on Fields. I really liked him coming out. That said Horn is amazing as well. But CB's dont win games.
