Sure, we do this, then we have to sign him to something like a 45 million dollar a year deal.  Then we have to turn around and sign Burns to something like a 25 million dollar a year deal.  Then all of a sudden we have 70 million dollars a year tied up in 2 players.  What could go wrong?!

thats going to be rougly 30ish percent of the cap with guys like Brown and Chinn on deck for new deals as well.

Watching the game, the other night they mentioned Jackson wanted a fully guaranteed contract.

Jackson said he wanted to remain a Raven, but Baltimore is flinching at a fully guaranteed contract.

So, they Tag him this offseason.   Do you bite?  Do you trade 2 firsts for him and fully guarantee his contract or PASS?

Absolutely not.

Lamar only averages about 180yds passing a game this year. Almost 1000 yds behind Brady Mahomes Allen.

Historically he only averages 21 td passes a year. That's like Taylor Heinicke numbers.

The guy just isn't worth the money.

He's only had one good year.

Baltimore is a better, more consistent franchise than us with better owners, better coaches, and a better GM. If they think it’s a bad idea to give him the contract he wants, I sure as hell don’t want the Panthers to give it to him PLUS multiple first round picks.

He is Baltimore!

I don't get the suggestion to not pay your true franchise QB. Are you going to let a QB that you drafted and accounts for so much of your offense walk away when it comes time to pay? That doesn't sound like a good plan to me. Actually it low-key sounds insane.

Look at his passing stats.

It's not like he can't pass. That's not their offense. You're getting it twisted. He's a true dual threat---arguably the best in history.

No not even close.

The numbers are the numbers.

There's a reason they

A. Don't like the deal and are willing to let go.

B. Haven't opened up the offense more.

The common denominator says it's Lamar.

Even good QBs in run dominant systems get over 3k yards a year.

If you're basing his prowess on passing stats alone, you're simply missing the total picture.

Sorry his running numbers don't matter.

They are a diminishing return the older he gets.

They also don't do a lot in the playoffs especially the Superbowl.

You need a QB that can dominate through the air. That needs to be his main function.
