Also, I was screaming throughout the game why aren't we running more.  The run game didn't not come to play, they weren't given the opportunity to play.  In the second half while we still had the lead it looked like Foreman was finally starting to get going with a few decent runs and then we just kept passing more than throwing.  Maddening.

You know what?   You're right.   Foreman did have a couple of good runs in the 2nd half but for some reason we went away from what got us here.

The whole point of the running attack was to keep that Botox-looking motherf--ker off the field while scoring points.

I don't think that we got manhandled on the O-line. Was Darnold even sacked today? I know that he was pressured, but it wasn't all bad. We must remember that Tampa has a pretty good D-line.

Now our D-line just wasn't at all effective, and it's really not surprising to me, as our DEs aren't as big and strong as necessary to push steady O-lines around on a consistent basis. The finesse game may be good enough against mediocre competition, but will only take you so far.

Was he sacked? Are you kidding?

also throw in that dumb wild cat play and read options that resulted in negative plays. just line up and run the ball with Foreman who will at worst get you 1-2 positive yards

I was at a New Year's celebration. I couldn't pay 100 percent attention on every play.. Even still, two sacks is nothing. Sam had time, and but for one ill-advised force along with a couple of possible under throws, he was slinging the rock enough for us to get a victory. O-lines are never perfect.

So...what happened to the dline and the oline?  Brady had all day to throw which is not good for a good secondary not to mention the scrubs we had playing.   These players want to play hard for Wilks but you could not see it on the field.  Got manhandled up front on both sides of the ball.  That surprised me.

We have been hiding the obvious problems with the oline by scheme all season.  By running down the throat of the defense.  Like I've said for weeks that is always going to be an inconsistent strategy against good teams.  They stacked the box.  Once they got a lead and we were in obvious passing situations our oline couldnt pass protect nearly as well.  Our oline is great at run blocking and average to slightly below average on obvious passing plays.  As far as the D line, they just cant get off blocks.  Once the o lineman gets hands on them they totally give up the rush and stand up.  That's why we never get any late pressure.   We either get through quick or not at all.  Holcomb relying on the front 4 to generate all pressure compared to Snow and his blitzing scheme has exposed them even more.

    • So we have a pretty tough schedule for the remainder of the season.  I believe I saw where it's the toughest remaining schedule in the league.  To even think about the playoffs we IMO have to, at minimum, win three of the remaining six.  49ers - We will have to play an amazing game to win this one.  We are down to backups at LB (at least for now) and Kittle is probably going to have a big day.  CMC must not go off on us.  PFF had a pregame analysis and actually the two guys running the show were split on who wins.  They even said it was disrespectful to the Panthers to be 7pt underdog.  Evero is going to have to have a great gameplan.   I'm on the fence but this game is in SF and I think we lose. Rams - We're at home that is about the only advantage I see in this game.  LA is one of the best offenses in the league and I just don't think we have the firepower to beat them.  The only way we win is if we can control the clock and keep LA's offense off the field. Saints - We have to go into this game on a mission.  WE HAVE TO WIN THIS GAME.  Hopefully, Canales has a better gameplan and we win.  This is a very winnable game. TB x 2 - The only chance, IMO, of winning the NFCS is we have to win both games.  Many talking heads say TB is faltering some and can be had.  By week 15 and 17 we should be hitting on all cylinders.  If we win, it's going to have to be a pretty mistake free. Seahawks - they have a very tough defense, and I think we get shut down.  Our only hope is to pressure Darnold into mistakes like he did this past weekend with 4 INTs.  As with the Rams we are going to have to keep this a low scoring game. My hope is  49ers- Win Rams - Loss Saints - Win Bucs@Home - Win Seattle - Loss Bucs@TB - Loss 9-8 Record My Fear 49ers-Loss Rams-Loss Saints-Win Bucs@home - Loss Seahawks - Loss Bucs@TB - Loss 7-10 record
    • With Motons deal (stupid), Hunt, Lewis and Mayes and Icky upcoming our line is going to be the most expensive again in the nfl.   Its going to be an interesting snap shot if this type of team building works.
    • We have an easy out after this season with marginal dead cap. Could be smart given the situation and RB landscape.  This part isn’t at you—but in general: None of these guys are world beaters — sure they have been great for us at times but I just hope we don’t get this emotional investment paired with financials. I don’t think we need to teget all antsy about keeping Dowdle when he’ll be 28 next year. I don’t mind just continuously taking a stab in the late rounds every year on one.  We should not be investing in one guy in particular when they’re not really a game breaker. See: Sanders, Hubbard, etc.  I’d say heck yes, take a shot at a guy high up if you’re convinced you’ve landed a Gibbs or Taylor level, but otherwise, don’t invest, don’t get emotional about a 3-4 game stretch. Reset and see what type of committee you can construct with fresh legs.
