It’s been a bad year. Tua concussion issues, that Giants player doing snow angels while Foles was down, now Hamlin. Parents still let their kids play football??? Very risky sport.

My son finally got a green light from my wife to play football few weeks ago and my wife just said it’s not happening after this injury.

I don’t want to sound disrespectful to Damar or his family, I wish him the best and prayers going forward. I just hope the NFL and NFLPA don’t have a knee jerk reaction before knowing all the details such as health history and diagnoses.

With all the concussions and information about CTE and now this there could be some changes coming.

I played in college, and even though everyone around you is getting dinged and injured, you somehow don't think of it happening to you.  The warrior mentality takes over.  I can say that when I was injured twice and the surgeon told me that I was done, there was a part of me that was relieved.  The decision I never wanted to make was made for me, and I found immediate peace with it.  I found other things to do, and they did not hurt as much.  So if this experience helps him find peace off the field, I get it.
