I think Payton is playing us. I think he is going to be in Denver or maybe wait another year, using us for leveraging his contract. I hope Tepper will not give up a first round pick for him.

After seeing the Miami coach vaping during their game that job will be open soon again I believe, if not this year next. Payton may wait on it even till next year. Remember there are several states with no state income tax, Florida, Tenn, and Nevada are among them. Not the biggest factor, but something to think about.

Payton is coaching this year. Right now he has value. Two years removed and the Saints wouldn't get near the compensation.

I don’t want him because of Bountygate, being scum, and looking like a butthole. But, we might have to sell our souls for a winning season at this point.

It is no coincidence he left New Orleans when his quarterback retired. He left before his contract was up. After Bountygate and his one year suspension it turned a lot of people off.

I've been in management for years now and the one constant question you get in a promotional-type of interview is "if you are considered for this position (a promotion) do you have  YOUR replacement named AND trained?"

    • I did not want to start or even think about *if* BY reverts back to pre-non last 9 games.   There is a lane in which Panthers are looking QB after this season, I feel its higher than most will realize. I mean....not kidding... has any team ever traded up to 1st overall twice in the teams history? I don't even want to think within 3 years, just foresee Tepper squeezing Dans and Brandts sacs to the point were they are forced to trade up for a another savior.....   The kicker is I feel this way with BY playing good-great..... I think there with be non-fixable problems for contract negotiations between BY&reps vs Panthers org on the whole. You can not pay 50+ million per over few years with 70% guarantees for 3,303 yards 15 TDs and 9 INTs......Cursed I tell you....
    • It's not surprising, but it's still surprising that many of these guys don't manage their money in such a way that provides them and their families a better lifestyle than most for the rest of their lives without even working a nine-to-five. I can't imagine making over a 100 mil for a decade and ultimately ruminating about supporting my family due to financial issues.
    • That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just have better players and better coaches and more luck.  Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own.  Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.
