Will Steichen even want to come here? Will he want to do one more year in Philly if they lose in the Playoffs/SB? Will we have waited too long if they do make it to the SB so that there's no one left after him and he doesn't choose us ... and we end up with Wilks? TUNE IN TOMORROW for more from the Days Of Our Huddle Lives.

No it doesn't

General Question.

Since the Eagles advanced does that mean Steichen can’t get his 2nd interview until after the 30th by NFL rule or does that just mean the Eagles don’t have to allow it until after the 30th?

Kaftka stock dropped big time tonight!! Carolina going to be like.. ummm that interview scheduled?? We’re busy

I wouldn’t write him off over that game. That Giants team had no business being in the playoffs much less advancing one round. A lot of people on here wanted Ben Johnson. Check out his 29-0 loss to NE this year.

Pretty sure it's rules.

Agreed. You have to look at context.

This game was more of a plus for Shane Steichen than a minus for Mike Kafka.

Heck, what if Steichen's offense gets shut down next week? Does that disqualify him?

No, because Steichen has almost double the years of experience that Kafka has. Johnson has more as well. Kafka is NOT ready. Like I said in another thread, Kafka was a player when Cam was starting out here. Steichen was coaching during that time and even before Cam.

Well when it matters u only get 7 points… just seamed the Giants weren’t ready tonight.. for a division foe they are usually closer..he could be good but tonight’s performance has me wondering!! Steichen now just had a great game plan!! No mercy!!

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
