if you believe Rapoport has legit sources within the building, he indicates it's a two candidate race at this point. Wilks and Reich. no Moore.

Yikes. I guess we hope for Reich and that he builds out a coaching tree under him.

I wonder how much longer he wants to coach for?

I'm so disappointed that both Ben Johnson & DeMeco Ryans want nothing to with us. Beyond Harbaugh, they were my top two. Steichen, I suppose, being number three.

I guess out of the bunch that's left Reich would be the next man up. However, it doesn't really excite me and I just don't know how much he has left in the tank.

And the fact that his offenses were good under 3 different QBs

And as Bad as Wentz was there.  He got more out of Wentz last year than Doug Pederson did without Reich.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but it’s already a losing combo. Time to play a different tune.

Actually you dont have proof yet.  Wilks was 6-6. That’s .500 and not losing.

I take it you don't have old family members who get turned down in the workforce because of their age.

They do this all the time in warehouse jobs like Walmart/Amazon/etc...

They choose the younger worker over the older worker every time. They look for longevity in those companies. I know this because my aunt is a supervisor at a WalMart warehouse. They most definitely look at age in warehouse jobs.

I know a amazon manager and he told me the 60 year olds work much harder than the current 20 year olds. Said he looking for more and already got 3...

Close.

The defense got worse when he took over

This is sort of misleading. Our offense was so bad under Rhule that the opposing teams didn’t need to score more points. Wilks at least had this team scoring more points. Wilks and Snow were both horrible in situational football. Times when the defense could get off the field, we failed miserably with both Snow and Rhule. A good defensive coordinator should get the right personnel and call in for down and distance. You know whether to blitz on passing downs and whether to run blitz on short distances. Wilks should send more corner blitzes if he coaches defense again in the future. We could not get pressure up the middle and our corners could not stick long enough, if your zone fails to get pressure then the zone fails.

Wilks will play a boring, pound the football style offense that doesn't work in today's game. He will have a solid defense and a terrible offense. Go 10-24 in his first 2 years and get canned. Save this. Bookmark it. Ya heard it here first.

To Wilks defense there though.  What else was he supposed to do.

He had what was reguarded as the worst QB room in the NFL

probably the worst TE room

and a Below avg WR room.

With a OC off the streets that was about the only one willing to work for Rhule.

Did you actually think he was going to sling it around 50 times a game with that?

That May be what he wants.  But we never know.  What we do know, he adjusted to his strengths/weaknesses and got it done.

lol no one is turning anyone away from a Walmart/Amazon warehouse job. Those companies hire anyone that apply. You only have to have a pulse and no drugs in your piss.

these are coaches not players.... I just dont understand this whole arguement about coaches being too old... its not like they are out there playing....

Well, it's not like it's unheard of to retire in your 60s. Though maybe it's personal bias, coming from my own personal experiences with family slowing down or passing around Reich's age.

    • ^I want that, but Rodriguez over KC. Don't hate KC as much at that spot, but rather take a WR with the pick we gain in that trade than in the 1st.
    • I think there is good points in this thread to what the team needs to do. 1) Ball isn't really the issue but, he needs reigned in.  Coach and he need to realize when things aren't falling from the three and learn to play other facets of the game.  He's an amazing talent and when he's on, he's on.  But he can also shoot you out of a game.  We're lucky Miami went that way but that is too many missed threes.  He still needs to bulk up if he can, but he needs to drive more.  He's pretty good at finishing usually and hopefully the fouls come (probably not though).   2) The whole team needs to be more physical.  As others have stated, we need more bulk in our bigs.  Diabate is a hurricane of energy but cannot go against the larger centers.  I love him on the team but he should be more of a match up type guy or energy off the bench.  I think he'd be insane off the bench.  However I think the biggest issue with Diabate and Kaulk is the lack of offensive game.  The lack of a jump shot or anything.  Teams figured out to just leave them on the screen and crash lanes.  There has to be some sort of threat.  We need a 4 and a 5 that can do those things and stretch out the court. 3) Bridges.  He's just undersized.  However, I feel he really threw his all into it the last few weeks when others were gassed.  He was ok not being a focal point.  I'd like to have him off the bench as well but I assume he'd be traded to make things work.  4) Miller.  Dude can light it up when on, but disappears for quarters at a time.  Also he needs to work on ball handling and passing.  He's a turnover machine at bad times.  Also hopefully over the injury so he can bulk up too.   5) Kon. Just a rookie.  Long season and back injury.  I have no doubt he'll be back stronger and focused.  Needs to work on defense and physicality like the whole team but yes, a rookie he'll get there. 6) Coby.  Has to be resigned, no question.  The bench lineup is rough without him running the point.  Team has big potential and the front office seems sharp.  They seen the hive and how crazy it got and how much the city wants this.
