Develop? Hell yeah. Find? Everyone that doesn't have one is trying to find one.

The problem is availability. They just don't drop out the sky like rain you know.  That takes more eyes as there has to be more people involved to help with sifting through the available options. It's just not that easy to say find one. It takes just as much luck as it does skill.

Yea, I think Stroud will be available around those picks. I think Levis and Young will be the first QBs off the board, but Stroud will not be available at 9.

Im with you on your first point. I was fine doing what we had to do(lose) to secure a top 5 pick.

Stroud is going #1.  Thinking otherwise is ridiculous.  If he doesn’t go #1 that means Young went #1 and he goes 2.  It’s happening.  I don’t buy Levis above either guy.

Some of you need to get over the thinking that Reich was brought to get a veteran QB..

The team is focused on getting a young QB..

If they were focused on a vet they would have hired Wilks because they wouldn’t need a person who can develop a QB right??

Last the Colts were in a different situation and the GM had more power there then the coach… They were way further along and thought they were a QB away from being a title contender.. And weren’t interested in rebuilding and developing a drafted young QB..

They were also interested in getting a young offensive mind. We see how that went. Just saying.

So what does it mean that we just brought back Eason when we already had Corral on the roster? Drafted by the Colts, maybe just a coincidence/guy to help speed up the learning process for whoever else we have come in? I imagine we'll start off with 4 QB's again but have a clearer idea of starter instead of that disaster of a competition last year. At the least Reich should be able to identify who is grasping the system pretty early on in the process. He switched things up differently for Rivers and Wentz so he's not completely stuck in his ways unlike McAdoo

Eh...im just not as confident in that as yall are. Im not convinced Levis will be that highly valued. I think Stroud will be the top QB all said and done or maybe bryce.  Im just settling with the fact we would have to trade up all the way to one.

It means nothing. Eason can be cut at any time. His only hope is to stick around long enough to be a camp arm. After the rest of the staff is in place the focus will turn to the draft.  Corral is the only current qb that will most likely be in the qb room next season.

    • I mean, I hear what y'all are saying, but Derrick could have been positive without being negative.  He essentially accused people of not seeing Bryce's improvement because of their desire to not be wrong. He could've kept it about Bryce and the team. For example, he could've said: "Bryce has made strides, and we believe in him. This coming season, his continued improvement will turn a lot of people into believers."  That would've been supportive of his teammate and sent a message to the doubters. That being said, his tact almost summoned and left the door ajar for more skepticism. That's my take anyway. Bryce has improved from the bottom to perhaps skirting the line between the bottom third and mid-third at best...after three seasons. We've all seen it. Yay! In my mind, Bryce has still got a long way to go and a short time to get there, but my expectations are top five--at least top 10--always! Yes, I am a fan, so there's that, but I don't believe it's unreasonable to expect excellence. Hopefully the Panthers FO has the same mindset (and that doesn't even necessarily have anything to do with what we gave up to acquire him). That is the lens I'm looking through. Derrick Brown has his homer glasses on. He just needs to be more diplomatic and thoughtful with his words in my opinion, but I get it that he's a good teammate.
    • I have no doubt the Canes will come out like gangbusters, huge bounce back from game one - my only concern is Freddie, if he lets in a couple of softies and Dobes stays hot we could be in trouble.
