REPORT: CJ Stroud is reportedly the “apple” of the Carolina Panthers’ eye at the moment.

Plenty of time to see what happens. I don't see us giving away a ton of picks until close to the draft.  Truth is if we weren't willing to give up many picks for Payton and he would have a profound effect on the team, I wonder how much we would give up to get to 1. I am looking forward to free agency and to see where Corral is in his rehab.

That wasn’t the only reason we didn’t want Payton.. Picks to a rival, Full control of the roster demands and a 20 million dollar a year salary might also be a issue.. Concerning Payton .. Which it seems is making alot of teams back off..

I think you’re not reading the room correctly.. Both the team and this coach got burned “multiple” times doing that exact thing.. Why would you waste time getting A Qb developer only to get a 29 year old developed QB?? 1 that has proven already he couldn’t succeed with a abundance of weaponry?? Does that make sense??

32 and has been a highly successful QB in the NFL until McDaniels turned up.

He hasn’t lead his team past the divisional round .. While having a top level amount of talent surrounding him.. And him being 32 makes this opinion even worse .. Why do some of you keep looking for a band aide for a gunshot wound??

Lol, the CMC picks aren’t even worth our 2nd round pick. The 2nd round pick of the Rams was worth more than all of the CMC picks. Acting like the CMC trade, which I was fine with, was to get a QB isn’t based in reality. I think it was a continuation to make up for the Darnold, Mayfield and Corral trades.

Also, yes, you trade the 24 year old pass rusher to get your franchise QB. Burns has been part of 5, 5, 5 and 7 win teams because we had poo for QB. Getting our next Cam is far more important than Burns. You could trade the Rams picks to move up from 9 to 3 and get Stroud (if that’s actually who we want) and use Burns money to sign say a Reddick or Ngakoue or whoever else is available this year or next year since a rookie QB will need a year.

The Rams picks are 2 years down the rode and since you can only trade 3 years worth of picks 1 of them could only be used.. By that time they could have gotten there poo together making those picks late 1st.. Soooo this whole plan of yours wouldn’t have worked ..

The picks from the CMC deal will be sufficient and we get to keep our young pass rusher..

You act like trading Burns somehow ensures us our franchise QB which is false.

    • That's not totally the case. It is hard to discuss future without a crystal ball, you look at the past the to assess and project, and there is a lot of on field negative from year one. Some people say throw it out. You can’t dismiss things that were on him and not the OL or Reich or Chark or Mingo etc., if you want the real story.  Only Young can tell where that goes and everybody just has to wait for real football. That footwork is not just people picking on him, it is probably a huge barrier to his potential success. All the passing comes from a base and if it off the throws are hard to trust.  OTA optimism is fools gold tbh. We have seen the skins and shirts all stars enough times to know what that is. We will need real football at real football game speed which we won’t get even in preseason.  That said I expect him to somehow make his way to somewhere in QB tiers or rankings to maybe low 20s. Gotta win 6 at least for that.  My opinion is if they can make a playoff run with a 4th tier QB then fine but I’d just as soon go over to the side of those who for years held out for a QB capable of talking to and winning a SB. I am not thinking he is that guy so far but taking this year to find out is necessary.
    • Good lawd, look at the amount of rotation required for a mere 40-yard pass. No wonder he needs a runway for any throw beyond 50 yards.  Can you think of any NFL quarterback today who has a weaker arm than Bryce? For reference, with a similar amount of hip rotation, Stroud slung the ball 69 yards. https://x.com/VatorSports/status/1728845724434186374
    • I think the issue is there isn't any more of these posters still active on this site.  Everyone I see posting now either doesn't like Bryce or wants to see him in a better situation to make a better assessment.  I think everyone agrees he has work to do in order to show us he can become the QB we need him to.  Who knows if he will or if he can, but there are definitely other conversations to be had without being stuck on repeat and every thread turning into the same one.  It sounds like you need to find the Bryce Fan Boys from before the draft and just vent/hash it all out with them somewhere.
