Justin Fields

There continues to be noise out of Chicago that the Bears might draft Brice Young or Stroud with the number one. The rumor on at least one site had him traded to the Panthers for the #9 pick and maybe a later round pick. Should the Panthers have any interest? Would that be a better choice than Carr if the Panthers are thinking options?

This is all going to be a ruse so they can prison rape someone for that no. 1 pick. You want a qb? You better come get our no. 1 or we will take a qb.

I honestly think that's most likely. The entire sports media thinks they should build around Fields. Most of their fanbase thinks they should build around Fields. If you move Fields and take another QB, you better be right because holy poo... if you draft a bust and Fields flourishes elsewhere you're gonna be the biggest jackass in sports.

I hope there's smoke to this fire, because I would be stoked for Fields. I know he's primarily been a runner with subpar passing stats/tape in CHI, but the first year or two is the stage that is the toughest as these rookies get acclimated to the NFL.

Fields has spent this time in Chicago and now we would inherit him as he's starting to trend upward.

He would also cost a lot less than a move up for an unknown rookie. Also, Poles/Eberflus did not draft him, so maybe there is that old addage of wanting "their guy" and handpicking from the best of the best this year would help them reset while using draft assets to add players around Young/Stroud.

I’m not completely sold in Fields as a good QB. But I’d be okay with Fields and then someone like Kincaid.

If you give me the option of Fields, Levis, AR im taking Fields every time.

Fields with this Oline we have has a ton of potential. He literally has nothing in Chicago so it's really hard to judge him. We know if nothing else he can run.

This is one where I would definitely trust our coaches to make the evaluation. There's ample film of Fields in the NFL, albeit without much help around him. If they like him better than any QB at #9 then be my guest.

Would love to see Fields with a good coaching staff and o line. Yeah a lot of his impressive plays were running but he also made some good throws that showed potential.
I’d give him a chance.

He has elite NFL arm talent. No doubt about it.

If you give me the choice between Justin Fields and say Will Levis I'm taking Justin Fields all day everyday no hesitation. Seems pretty obvious at this point that the Bears choose Fields over the entire '23 draft class field.

I think I would rate Justin Fields the best quarterback in this class, possibly. If I completely discount Stroud's Peach Bowl game and knock Young for his size then Fields just all-round looks better coming out of college.

Maybe I've watched Stroud's Maryland game from this year one too many times at this point, but he's starting to spook me with how poorly he adjusts to pressure.

Eh idk if they view fields as better than this QB class, but the value of 1-1 with a smaller drop from this class vs fields, they are basically all in here in fields and all the picks the next few years. It's a calculated risk that the over quantity of picks and fields are better than less picks and a new QB.

It will be really interesting in 3 years how this plays out. If fields is a top 15 guy and they hit on the picks they get for 1-1 they can turn that dumpster fire around. But if 1-1 goes supernova and fields is 15th best eh might not be so rosy.

    • He talks way too much about his time in Seattle and Russell Wilson and how they built that team in 2012.   I won’t fall for any of it until I see them play for a year
    • Lol people like you are so silly and the only reason I seem to care to log on to post these days. How can you sit there and say Bryce was the reason Williams hurt his knee on that play. Maybe it's because you dislike Bryce so you are somewhat blind as to what actually happened? Not quite sure but maybe you should get your eyes checked. Williams hurt himself by trying to make a cut after spinning around to make that catch. Pause it at 3:24. Had he landed and ran like normal instead of going to plant his foot in the ground and make a cut he doesn't get hurt. Don't put that on Bryce. That was 100% Williams fault he got injured
