Breaking: Lamar Jackson is available as Raven's have placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on him.

You gotta give up two 1st rounders PLUS offer a contract the Ravens are unwilling to match. Even if you hammer out a deal with Lamar the Ravens can simply step in and say, "Hey, thanks for doing the negotiations for us. We'll do that deal."

That's how the nonexclusive tag works.

Don't know if it will happen. But if with we willing to go all-in on Air Thruster, this is no logical reason we don't vet this out.

I wasn't a believer in Lamar for several years. But he earned his MVP, and is a much better passer than a lot of people want to give him credit for.

This offensive line with Lamar would strike fear in the hearts of defensive coordinators like we haven't seen since in over 5 seasons when Cam was still in his prime

Lamar doesn't have the market that fans want to imagine he's got. He's a run-first quarterback who's been plagued by injuries and is expected a fully guaranteed salary.

You might be correct.

Peter King said this in his latest column...

If a team wants Jackson, it’s disguising its intentions well. I couldn’t find legit evidence of one in Indianapolis, talking to GMs and coaches and other club officials. There may be one (Jets? Falcons?) but I couldn’t find it.

That's the thing though. We weren't.

When Watson wanted a fully guaranteed contract, we said no.

Jackson wants a fully guaranteed contract too, and for more money than Watson did.

Genius move by Ravens FO. Pay him less than what he wanted and see his market value. If not they take the 2 firsts n flip that into a young QB coming out this year. Honestly they probably praying for the latter at this point

I get the impression they do as well.

Perhaps Tepper was not willing to give a fully guaranteed deal to Watson because of his....proclivities?  Jackson by all accounts seems to be a model citizen.  No 2 situations are the same.  Not saying we WILL do that, but you never know.

He’s a good passer and great runner but having to give a quarter of our cap to him AND spend two firsts is a deal breaker. If it was two or three firsts with a rookie deal, sure. A quarter of the cap on a free agent, sure. No to both. Especially one with injury concerns.

Jackson's arguably got a bigger problem. He's been injured a lot.

Best believe Tepper and Fitt are all over this though. Reich probably has a lot of respect for Lamar as a player and Josh McCown probably has a crush as well. I'd love to hear Everos honest assessment of Lamar's game as a DC.

If I was Fitt and Evero was scared of his game than I'm calling Tepper to get the bag of cash ready.

Fitterer has stated repeatedly that he prefers the 'draft and develop' route, so I wouldn't necessarily bet on that.

I would rather have CJ for 3 1st on a rookie contract than LJ for 2 1st and a league leading contract.

 Yep.

LJ is on the back end of his career. He’s just not the kind of player that has longevity.

    • Let it all out bro.   At the end of the day Charlotte fans just aren't that passionate as other fans. The Panthers and Hornets crowds are wack.    Go to a Canes game and you will understand this. Tell the family I said hi and Happy Father's Day.
    • Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you? There is an actual discussion board on this very site for Raleigh sports since they are so superior...  Maybe it's bc I'm watching Idiocracy with my son, but your timing is perfect, my man... The dumbest among us have become the most confidence in their ignorance... God Bless America!!
    • You do know the biggest military base in the US is located just an hour from Raleigh in Fort Bragg right? Military families are family oriented. A hour drive to games is nothing compared to traveling 3 hours to Charlotte.   Cmon man there is nothing happening in Western Carolina other than Charlotte. I only go west for outdoor activities and some nature/mountain views.
