He played Nickel for us last year... that isnt news. He had multiple QB hurries last yea bltizing form nickel, including a two tipped balls in which one of them landed in Derrick Brown's hands for an interception.

He played some nickel. He primarily played outside.

Sounded more to me that Chinn is gonna be primarily nickel and they will slide JC if they need to.

Yeah…

That won’t end up for Chinn and then sliding Jaycee inside and relying on Donte this year when coming off an Achilles injury won’t end well either

Hasn't even brought up any QBs.

He described what they’re looking for in a rookie QB and it was pretty much Bryce Young to a T. Said Frank Reich doesn’t mention a single measurable when he talks to him about what he wants in a QB. Said ideally 2-3 years of tape and that’s who the guy is, putting little stock in combine and pro day work outs. Said somebody who is a “fast processor” makes the right reads pre and post snap, etc. etc.

He did just say it’s game tape, not combine or pro days. Wants 2-3 years of experience.

The Russel talk could be a smokescreen still but this is as close to a no on Anthony Richardson as it gets without saying it outright.

values being a "natural born leader, in and out of huddle, fast processor, pre-snap reads"

I really wouldn’t read much into these answers. Scott isn’t going to reveal much and knows other teams may be watching

I don’t think for a second they’ll trade back but if Scott still wants to play this ridiculous trade back game he’s obviously going to give answers that would make you think they want Young

Everytime I hear the FO talk it feels like Bryce. It’s interesting.

He shadowed the WR1. When that WR1 when into the slow, he went with him.

It was shared in one of the threads here on the huddle that Horn played over 30% of his snaps in the nickel position.

Yeah Horn is a legit travel corner which is super rare these days

Thank you.

you're twisting that dramatically to fit some narrative of bryce young, I watched it too and every question relating to bryce young or height was brough up by the media, not by scott.

he said looking for a leader, someone who treats people well, someone who can get them in and out of a huddle, and someone who has put on good tape.

He has the #1 pick.  He doesn’t need to care about revealing anything.  He definitely won’t move down unless it’s Houston and even then I highly doubt it

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
