Colin Cowherd says Panthers making a move for Aaron Rodgers

If we could land Rodgers without giving up the first overall pick, then I guess there wouldn’t be anything wrong with a short term rental. I mean, we could still draft our quarterback of choice to sit and develop behind Rodgers, and having Rodgers would arguably give us a chance to win our division.

That said, I don’t see it happening.

yes this is a joke, but would be a helluva lot of fun

Trade for Rodgers for 2025 First

Trade #1 to the Colts for #4, Pittman, and their 2024 First.

Trade #4 and Pittman to the Raiders for #7 and Adams.

Draft best DE available at #7

Trade 2nd Rounder to Arizona for Hopkins

Rodgers, Adams, Hopkins, Sanders, and our OL would be one of the best offenses the league has ever seen.

Win SB, Rodgers Retires

Colts are terrible next year and we draft Caleb Williams at #1 overall and he comes into the league with Adams and Hopkins as his WRs.

Dominate for the next 15 years.

So, he’s full of crap at times, but at others he’s one of the more insightful people on the radio as far as big picture stuff go.

I wouldn't go that far.

He does occasionally say things that make sense, or more frequently talks to other people who make sense, but especially these days more often than not he's full of sh-t.

Of late, he's also become prone to some major gaffes where he just gets things flat out wrong.

That could vey well be but I don't want to take the time sifting through all his garbage to try determining what is actual factual.

He had a segment on the NFL draft and QB prospects a couple weeks ago that I thought was 100% on point.

he then usually follows up segments like that with some stupid hot take which I get that killing credibility with some.

I'm not just talking about the hot takes. I'm talking about just straight up mistakes.

This past season, he mentioned a Bears player named Armstrong when there was no one by that name on the roster. He also predicted that Rashaad Penny would help the Seahawks win a game...eleven days after Penny had been placed on season ending injured reserve. As I recall, he also credited some roster move to a coach who had already been fired, but I don't remember who that was.

Those are a couple of examples, but there are more, and loads of times where he completely flip-flopped a supposedly strongly held opinion.

In an interview a while back, he mentioned that he's not really worried about whether he gets stuff right so much as he is about making his show entertaining.

I remember thinking, "well yeah, that's pretty obvious".

    • I know it's only been training camp and one preseason game, but I think T-Mac has already shown his floor to be exactly what I said about him in the pre-draft process. That his floor if he never improves his game, is as one of the best #2 WRs in the NFL, if not even still a low end #1 (i.e. a 25th-ish best WR in the league). I think it's safe to say he's already established himself as our #1, and there are only a small handful of teams in the league where I don't think he'd be their starting #2 WR in Week 1. Bengals (Higgins), Dolphins (Waddle), Eagles (Smith), Bucs (Godwin if healthy), Rams (Adams) are really the only teams where I think he'd be the #3 as a rookie in Week 1.  A few others like the Lions (Williams), Bears (Odunze), Seahawks (Kupp), Commanders (Deebo), where he'd be the 2b to start the season, just because they're vets and/or already have a year or two of experience with their team/QB. And even having said that, I think by year 2, he's better than every one of those players (And no, I'm not saying he's already going to be better than a prime version of Adams, just whatever he'll be at 33 next year), and same goes for Kupp, but that's more because it seems like his body might be quitting on him in a way that hasn't happened to Adams (yet).
    • Well to be fair, Horn not practicing right now to let his stitches heal up from a car accident isn't something that should be concerning.  Sure, you don't want him missing practice leading into the season, but it's one that once healed, won't have lingering affects or fear of re-injuring it, it was just bad luck.
    • Quality backups are absolutely important. This franchise has been plagued with depth problems. That said, there is a little bit of dismay that Mays can't beat out a 1-legged man, and all the talk going into the off-season was how BC would certainly be gone since he had position versatility.  In the end, it doesn't matter too awfully much, as I would be shocked to no end if Corbett makes it through the season. We know what we have in reserve, and that should surely be better than trying to sign random fat guys mid season to try and take over.
