I can corroborate the Bryce Young info @Vergeposted. The move to 1 was for Young. That said they do like Stroud and AR and were prepped to take AR if they moved to 3 if they couldn't pckg it to move up again.

If Houston really loves BY they'll have to pay.

So I need to start coping that the pick will be young........gods give me the strength......

Are you sure this isnt a ruse or they are testing the leaky people within the walls??

I hope Young makes it big whether it’s here or not.  Opens the door for the little guy for years to come.  Nothing wrong with that.

I have wondered before what Flutie would have done if a team stuck with him in the NFL.  He had an incredible football career regardless.

Young is way better IMO though

If he is the pick I worry more about him finishing every season on IR than his ability at qb. I've always thought he's the best prepared of the class for the past 2 season's. I do not think he will be the best of the class long term in the nfl. I have concerns about the others as well but not so much about their chances of finishing a season.

This success of taking Young will come down to him staying off IR for 17 games and through the playoffs.  That is a huge gamble even if he's a great qb. His injury risk is much higher than the other qb's at this level I don't care what any of you say.

I put panthro in the same spot as verge, both have called moves before they happened.

Add in the david carr stuff, its past time to start listen.....no matter the amount of peanut butter i forced into my ear tunnel..

theres still time, but too much to get the sand hole started...

Everyone knows this…it doesn’t discount what he did for me.  It isn’t impossible for a small QB to be great given the chance.  He also played a long time.

Well at least he isn't Drew Brees. All you guys that have been spamming his name the last few weeks to boost the case for your favorite prospect should be ashamed of yourselves.

If you believe Stroud is the better player I am completely fine with that.  On certain days I feel the same.  It’s a great problem to have picking at #1.  We all pine for our guy.  Good stuff.

I have liked Young for a while now but I haven’t down played Stroud very much.  I do think he played from a clean pocket a lot and had incredible receiving options but he did deliver.  He is a top level prospect and I won’t deny that.

Stroud/Young or Richardson I'll accept and hope for the future with any of those QB's as the pick.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
