I feel like by the time the end of this Pro Day run, I personally will be out of energy. LOL

All the Oooo Ahhhhh.... goo goo gah gah.... "did you see the side eye? They aren't picking him", and the "get someone who looks at ________ like ______"

can it be the draft yet!?

I hear you I used to think like that but the way I look at it, trading up to 1 overall when we weren’t the worst team in the league, close to making playoffs, all eyes on us, competent coaching staff, our pick of whichever player we want…this poo doesn’t happen often. Let’s sit back and watch the show.

No doubt they should and will save for a few. But the same can be said vice versa if he isn't the pick. That's why it's important not to fall head over heels too much. I'm looking forward to seeing him throw.

I mean i believe as a franchise we are 2 for 2 in having a top 3 pick in the draft.

Oh. Yeah, the Panthers have done very well with top 3 picks. That said, this is the first time they've moved up to get a guy so, there is the additional pressure of that to consider. Missing on a top 3 pick when you suck is bad, but odds are you'll be right back in the top 10 the following year and might get fired if the owner is impatient. Missing after trading up means you just handed a top 10 pick to another team and will be fired. At least that's the way I look at it.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
