I wouldnt call the line elite at all and 2 starters wont even be ready to start the season and its up in the air if they will even be the same players when they come back. Better hope it works out that way.

I'm in the camp that thinks our OL is not the level some fans have gone ahead and declared it to be. Like okay admittedly Sam Darnold was a poo QB as was Baker but the oline didn’t do them favors. But for some reason some folks see inserting a QB smaller than any of last years quarterbacks Corral included who got pummeled in preseason as profit. You have to laugh a little at the situation.

I think missing out on an edge is a huge mistake, but I see this draft.  Why is everyone drafting Guards when we have no real backup plan at T, unless we really like the player we signed off the Dolphins' Practice Squad last year.  A T is more likely to move inside to G than a G to a T--so I am thinking depth here.

BC was not that good at LG, but I think he should improve.  As Ekwonu and BC improved, then we finally put Bozeman in, the OL got pretty solid.  We will need to be very stout up the middle--and I like what I saw of Cade in limited action.  not elite, but good.

like it a lot, but I'm not wild about Darnell in the second.   Love the 3rd round pick.  don't know if he played with Ickey at State but he might have, and that relationship could make the transition easier.

Also I'm not really ready to spend a pick in this draft on an RB.  Too many other needs, but if it's the right guy at the right time of the draft, I'm fine with it.

You know what would be funny. Drafting Young and putting him behind the same line that got Corral injured. Oh wait, we can't. None of those guys are still around. If you have to make things up, your point may be too weak to start with.

I, for 1, think that Christiansen is good back up tackle if either go down and a quality guard is a lot easier to find than a quality tackle on day 3. I could also see bringing back Erving for T depth, Free agency has not been his friend, so he'd be a cheap signing.

In total fairness iamhubby1 if it were up to you and your sunshine and rainbows crew we would still be starting Darnold.

Typical of you. Deflect, and attack. I guess when you can't validate your point, that's all that's left.

That's funny too. "Sunshine and Rainbow crew". Nothing but insults from you. But hey, at least you are consistent. Care to name a few of our members? Or is that too much to ask?

I need to name names? Anyone who has perused the huddle the last 6 months or so has seen the folks who kept saying give Darnold another chance lol.

As skeptical as I am of Young I'll take his potential ten times out of ten over that.

Appreciate the convo 🫡

Big whatever on the NFL #1. Until someone actually does and changes the paradigm, you just do not take a player that size for that position at 1.1.
If this needs to be explained to you I seriously hope you are not named Frank Reich, Scott Fitterer or David Tepper.

I would buy that the NFL is going flag football just without the flags, and if Tepper has assessed things that way, and that is why they may be serious…  I yield my opposition.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
