I think all 3 have the ability to pan out, but it really matter WHERE they land.  I honestly think we are one of the better places for an early selected QB to land because....

1) We were a 500 team once we fired Rhule and we traded UP for the top pick meaning we are a good step above the bottom teams.

2) We have a young solid OL to protect our rookie QB

3) We have a former QB offensive minded HC plus our staff in all in on supporting our QB

4) We have a talented DC with some talented players to work with on defense so we won't have to lean on our rookie QB too much

5) We should have a strong running game with Sanders and Chuba behind that power running OL

For example I think any of the 3 have a lot better shot at becoming special if they are picked by us at 1 vs Houston at 2

I think we're the situation all 3 QBs would want to be in - at least in the short term, and hopefully in 2-3 years time they're good enough to influence the situation around them like a franchise QB should.

As I've said, I think Richardson is the potential superstar of the group. Young I think will either bust (purely due to his size) or have a middling NFL career and Stroud... there's something about his game I don't like that I can't quite put his finger on, but if you hook him up with a HC / OC that spells it out for him he can get the ball where it needs to go every down (like Goff in Detroit / L.A.).

AR has a good head on those shoulders and he deserves to be drafted in top 3.

The main thing hurting him is that Florida was never going to give him what he needed, so he left for the draft before he could put it all together. But the kid has it all. As a QB coach, I would be champing at the bit to coach him.

I'm betting there are a few coaches in the building doing just that.

These coaches have to feel like they are more than qualified to make this kid a star. But patience doesn't seem to be a quality Tepper is embracing right now. Don't get me wrong, I love Bryce. I think he will have a great career. But AR is a unicorn. If all of that talent gets harnessed he could do things we maybe have never seen or won't see again for some time. This draft is fascinating because of these two guys and the mystique of what their careers can/will be.

I want BY, and believe he’ll be special. I feel the same for AR. He wants it, and I believe he’s going to do whatever it takes to get it.

Agreed. I hope the team that drafts him has his best interests at heart instead of making him a gimmicky weapon. He's a quarterback.

Well look at it like this. There are 2 anomalies in this draft, Bryce Young and Anthony Richardson.  One is the smallest qb to ever suit up in the nfl. There other is a man child the likes of which we've never seen.  The little guy has 3 years of development on the man child. The big guy is un-molded clay needing an Allstar coaching staff to mold. The little guy has mostly been molded by someone else. Where do you go?

With Bryce, not much actual coaching to do, more playbook stuff. And the playbook will be limited. When it works great, certain teams will have the defense to shut him down and theres really not too many options to counter. Anthony, you have to respect the run and the deep ball every snap, if he can read defenses and improve his accuracy he's the next Allen. I can see why a coach would be higher on him as something to mold

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
