Counterpoint.

Texans say "We love you Bryce but we know Carolina does to. If you are there at 2 you're our guy and we will be sprinting to the podium tripping over ourselves with excitement. If you aren't because Carolina takes you we reconvene and go with what's best for our team and the future"

If Houston moved out of pick 2 tomorrow I'd bet you anything Bryce would still meet with the team that moves to 2. As would CJ. And that's because ultimately this is a confirmation based on what he's heard his floor is 2 and he's met with both those teams.

I think the Texans are dumb enough to say that, so who knows. But imagine you’re the Texans, you profess your undying love to Bryce Young, then the Panthers take him and you have to take CJ Stroud because you can’t get what you want in a trade down. Like every GM ever, you go to the podium and talk up your pick and assure your fan base that you got the guy you wanted. Then it comes out that you told Young he was your #1, and in fact would have preferred to trade down than draft Stroud. Not a good look.

Why is anyone shocked?

It's been trending this way for most of the offseason. The Stroud hype was coming from this board. Nationally Bryce Young was always thought as the best QB in this draft.

Welcome to Carolina Bryce Young!

Dov Kleiman on Twitter: "With the 1st overall pick, it is now possible that Bryce Young might join the #Panthers https://t.co/q1AUc3LwAP" / Twitter

I mean seriously. BY has miles and miles of stellar game tape playing in the SEC.  And game tape doesn’t lie.  He’s the dude.

I wonder how many of the Stroud superstans are going to start pretending that they were okay with Young the whole time despite their post history showing otherwise. 👀

Less than 2 weeks until it's draft time!!!

I call them "size queens". lmao

They all became experts on body types and how much weight ppl can possible gain, whether the it is all water etc...

    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
