Bryce Young Media Tour Week

Like a lot of you, I've also seen all the Bryce clips on Sportscenter, ESPN, podcasts such as the PIvot. My question is, to you, the holistic huddler, why is Bryce Young (and to a lesser degree Will Anderson), why is Bryce Young going on this media tour anyway? What does he have to gain from it? Why isn't any of the other quarterbacks in the "consensus" (AR, WL, CJS) not doing media tours similar to Bryce? Enlighten me please.

Disclaimer: This is in no way shape or form me disliking Bryce. I love Bryce and all the other QBs (except Levis). Just was curious about the timing and the suddenness of this media wave.

I'd guess two things mostly:

1. He's the biggest name in the draft (no pun intended lol)

2. He's probably going to be the number 1 pick so it's probably largely centered around that.

He's playing to his strengths. Makes sense to me.

Get those #9 jerseys on the NFL Shop already!

I will never understand people buying jerseys of players that haven't played in the NFL yet. You don't want to wait a few games to make sure they don't suck??

Did people do this with Teddy and Sam?? Christ

You sound like the people who used to say stuff like this about Cam. These dudes can be multifaceted ya know.

Actually, no. Cam got nowhere near this much praise from the media before draft. Accomplished as Cam was he still had to earn their respect. Nice try.

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
