While the board and Kaye is sucking off BJ Ojulari, compare his stats to Johnson’s for last year. Dude isn’t a blue goose either. Byron Young is also 25 and was an assistant manager at Dollar General at one point. Where is the can’t miss edge rusher we made a mistake and missed on?

Further proof that people on here are just looking for reasons to be angry. Most of its coming from the anti-Young people

Everos obviously has been following Johnson closely and is the reason he’s here.

I really wish someone would come out and flat out say “we got word that Tampa was gonna take him and it was someone we personally coveted and found unique to our system etc.” i mean obviously they’re experts but we have seen terrible DRAFTING from Seattle in the past. They’re professionals etc. I just hope they’re not the “dumb drafting” kinds, lol.

Who all is anti-Young right now? Let's not go out of our way to create a group of perceived enemies when it might be two or three people at most.

I’m really trying not to pile on a consensus of criticizing the pick before I’ve seen the guy play, but it is frustrating to think we came out of last night without a player that will plug a gap from day 1. Those guys were available and we didn’t come away with any of them.

now I feel like I’m asking a lot of this 4th round pick just to hopefully provide a guy who can compete for a starting spot while the 2nd and 3rd rounders develop.

Who would have been a “plug the gap guy” a TE maybe? A corner maybe? Really curious as to who you think would’ve been plug and play from 39 on.

The 4rth better produce a damn offensive lineman, there are plenty left that could add crucial depth which we dont have

From Brugler's draft guide, heres basically where we were after the top guys went and Byron Young going a few spots ahead of us. So we did reach, but it was thin. It will be interesting when/where KJ Henry goes and if we totally whiffed on the rankings of the two guys

16. NICK HAMPTON Appalachian State 3rd-4th 5SR 6022 236 4.58

17. BYRON YOUNG Tennessee 3rd-4th 5SR 6023 250 4.40

18. DYLAN HORTON TCU 4th 5SR 6040 257 4.73

    • So what is more important? what he did on the Saints the year before last or how he compares to a ROOKIE who clearly had problems adjusting to the LEAGUE last year on another team and it effecting win/losses? smh And you say im all over the place.  Also, i clearly gave explanations for how the seattle game played out. Its rare a qb has to throw the ball 63 times so to think it would have been a theme for the season is ludicrous... the even bigger point is that its not necessarily his fault if he has to do it in the first place like he was calling the plays but for some strange reason you continue to hold that against Dalton as if its all on him and not the guys around him racking up penalties. If he is old terrible as you say it shouldnt matter how bad the defense was he played, he shouldnt have been able to throw for over 300 yds on them with no turnovers. But this is the narratives people pushed all season, why didnt bryce turn around and destroy and even worse defense against a winless vikings the next week? Do i need to layout how dumb this logic is even more?
    • I love to bash them for this move but its smart..  They have a team that can win the NFCS this year, but yet they are picking in the top 10 now.  Cousins contract is really only a 2 year deal. So Penix can sit and learn with no pressure for 2 years and in year 3 when Cousins guaranteed money is over they can plug in Penix.  If they were not in a position to win the South this year then I think this would have been bad trade, but its smart and they can afford it.
    • Already noticing differences At least this year, we did not see photos of Xavier hugging Mrs. Tepper (even if others were hugged, it simply suggests owner involvement on a premature level, imo)--there were no cute news conferences wherein the head coach jokes about drafting a RB because he had a good game against Baylor and his wife told him to; There are not recordings of the head coach calling a long snapper and trying to convince him that he is being drafted and not pranked.    In other words, I get the feeling that the GM was actually able to do his job this year--we shall see.
