He is "super grateful to be here."

With all the Panthers have invested, this is nothing. Just got to play the game.

It will get done.

BY and his agent want to maximize his income.  Rightfully so. The Panthers organization want to minimize risk. Rightfully so. Both groups need the contract signed and have BY in camp on time.  The sausage making will get done this week because it is in everyone’s best interest to do so.

This article pretty much has all the info of the inner workings and whats going on. Basically teams have leverage on WHEN the signing bonus is paid and for a lot of players they pay in 2 to 4 installments, unless strickly negotiated to force the team to pay them a lump sum all at once. This is the only hang-up. Most QB's drafted first (except Kyler) get a lumpsum of their signing bonus deposited into their account within 15 days of signature of the contract. Teams want to break it up over a year in 4 installments usually. Bryce will get his lumpsum just like Trevor Lawrence, Sam Darnold, and Trevon Walker (some of the most recent players to get lump sums)

The article makes total sense, but it also then makes it seem very odd that Bryce isn't signed yet for a couple reasons.

First, we have one of the richest owners in the sport, so it's surprising that when he pays out Bryce's signing bonus would be a sticking point for him, hard to see cash flow being an issue for him, so whether you pay it all to him at signing, 2 weeks later, or a month later, what's the difference to him?

Second, Bryce has already seemingly done really well with his endorsements, the kid isn't hurting for money right now.  So why is it a big deal to him if he gets his money as soon as he signs or has to wait a few weeks to a month or so to get a portion of if?

I always thought the sticking point in these was the offset language, that agents hate because it can cost their clients money if they end up getting cut before the rookie deal is over.  But this article makes it seem like it's more about when they get their bonus money, which is even stranger as it seems like it's either immediate or in installments a few weeks apart.

So why delay the signing?

If they signed right away, they'd already have their full bonus by now with how most of these contracts are structured it seems, very odd all around.

No you don't.  It's gone to hell over the past decade or so.

The place that seemed to have the best consistency, was the one in the American Airlines terminal at CDA. I would always stop there before catching a flight home, and never had any quality issues. But yeah, outside of that one the quality was hit or miss, with miss most of the time.

If brought out here though, there's probably different worker standards and laws. I think any franchise is really dependent on the store management.

    • Well boys. Rods playoff bust just showed up again. We traded for Gutz and Kuzy and it didn’t matter. It just flat out sucked. Our goalie became an issue again.  We have some major off-season questions.  1.  Is rod our guy?  Could we find anyone better?   2. Gutz and Jarvis.  Sign them. Would they want to play for a team that flames out every postseason? 3. Goalie. Again. Major issue. Koochie and Martin going forward. Cut Freddie  4. Burns, Staal, Martnook. These boys are getting old. How much do they have left? 5. Necas. I’d try to resign him to a new deal.    6. Skjei and Pesce. You get one but with how shitty the playoffs went you may get two.    7. Morrow and Nikishin.  How fast can they get up to speed?     8. Rod again. His system in the playoffs is trash unless perfection in net happens.    what a sad ending to a great year. Bad coaching decisions killed us. We got Gutz and set the world on fire with the JAG line but rods boy crush in Svech derailed the one.  Imagine the JAG line in the playoffs????  You blew it rod. You blew it again. This was our window. It’s gone.
    • I’d let him walk.  Players play. Coaches coach.  This team has talent.  Our ceiling is set.  If Rod somehow stays.  Let Koochie play. Freddie is the reason we lost this series. This guy was balls. I mean he sucked. Freddie was Meazik bad.  It’s Koochies team now.  If rods flameout playoff style is the standard then I will not be renewing my season tix. I’ll save money and watch us loss at home.
    • What's shampoo got to do with this? Ahhhh, maybe a short joke.
