anyone know how many times a rookie QB and first year HC went to the playoffs?

please temper expectations

we don’t need fire Reich and Young is a bust hot take threads at any point this year

2008 Ravens won 2 playoff games with rookie Flacco and rookie coach Harbough.

2008 Falcons made playoffs with rookie Matt Ryan and rookie HC Mike Smith

2009 Jets win 2 playoff games with rookies Mark Sanchez and Rex Ryan.

2012 Colts made playoffs with Rookies Luck and Pagano

I just don't see it this year. Way too much turnover, no continuity on offense aside from the OL and its coaches, a tough schedule and a brand-new staff -- and a rookie QB.

I get 6-11 vibes, but 9-8 vibes in 2024.

Jesus. If we are worse off with all these changes......fug

The guy is a top rate bullshit artist

I'm curious on why you think so.

I've always thought his scheme analaysis and knowledge of the game was very good. He's made some bold predictions over the years based on analysis that didn't end up working out, but you can say that for any media member...

Listening to him over the years. His analysis 8s almost always wrong. He makes exaggerated hype content. It's style over substance. He's good at making videos that are persuasive but doesn't seem to actually know what he's talking about

That sucks to hear, I had a completely different experience. I've found a lot of his videos to be informative and more in-depth than a lot of the stuff on YT. His background working for NFL Network likely helped a lot there, enough to at least land him a job back in the league while still producing content.

I fully expect that at some point this year we will hear calls for Bryce to replace Reich as head coach and for Frank to replace Young at QB.

A whole new system on offense and defense, new staff, rookie QB, and who knows how difficult our schedule really it.  It's unlikely, but not impossible.  Regardless I think we are heading in the right direction even if we take a step back this year (which I don't think we will).

Most coaches in this team's history had better seasons -- in two cases, their best seasons -- in their second year here.

Capers: 7 to 12 wins & division title
Seifert: 8 to 7 wins
Fox: 7 to 11 wins & NFC title
Rivera: 6 to 7 wins
Rhule: fug him

They were all first time head coaches with the exception of Seifert. Reich is an experienced head coach who is in his first season here. Big difference.

Just calling it like I see it. No reason not to have some optimism, but I think this year's gonna be less successful than others think. But, next year will be better.
