Very good training camp addition former probowler probably very eager to get his game back on track. Underrated pickup to bolster our LB group even if he only contributes a few games could be a very very good backup.

Jones had a couple of years (2016 & 2017) where he was one of the best off-ball LB's in the league.  His pass coverage ability as a LB was among the best in the league.

Even if he has lost a step, it's a great depth signing IMO, and I think he can still spot start if necessary.

I love this signing, and I hope we follow it up with another signing at EDGE.

One other thing I thought of too is that this signing will allow Luvu to potentially get more snaps as a pure pass rusher.

Luvu as a pass rusher excites me he’s got a knack for getting to the qb I’d love to blitz him more. Imagine him getting 10 sacks this season that’s wrecking havoc from an OLB.

smh. no wonder kids are getting dumber these days.

I know you are using this as slang, but by definition this makes no sense, haha.

It's like how kids are saying "unironically" before they say a statement

It makes perfect sense in this situation

I was far more impressed with Luvu last year than any time I watched Jones play. If he is good off-ball it does provide an opportunity to be more flexible in your play calls and how you manage to flip the coverages.

for obvious reasons, my fandom in general nfl news has been nonexistent for the past three years. why is this guy even available? i remember him being a beast on the falcons.

yeah really good question that I have no answer to as I also haven't followed as closely in recent years as I did when we were actually relevant. Deion was great in the Dan Quinn era, overrated a bit by Falcons fans (I remember some talking him up like he was better than Luke or TD lol) but definitely a top 10-15 ILB. Even if he just winds up being solid depth this is a great signing. If he can get back to being even close to what he once was, what a damn find for this deep into the summer. Really no idea why he's been sitting available

And this is the question right? Obviously the team is going to put out media saying Jones was just waiting on the right situation to present itself but coming off of a shoulder injury, as a linebacker, you know the real reason.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
