I don’t view it as a vendetta. It’s more similar to bragging rights when your team beats another. I just want the losing side to take their L as they should and don’t go quietly into the night.

I guess I should have included it, but that’s obviously based on projection from where they both are currently. Everyone on our staff and team is raving about Young and where he is as a rookie. He’ll still have rough games.

To each his own I guess. I could see bragging rights if the team he plays for were a division rival or a conference rival even. But he plays in the AFC. I'm not putting Bryce under a microscope and I'm not expecting that for the rest of the QB class either. Unless they are just dogshit and it's undisputed you have to let them get a full season under their belt. Piling on Stroud or whoever only invites criticism toward our own rookie when he makes mistakes which are going to happen. I believe we made the right pick based on what I've seen so far. But I also know what to expect from a rookie quarterback so I do not have really high expectations for this season other than to see an offense that is fun to watch.

This is going to happen anyway. There are more than a few out there who will absolutely have a field day if he has bad day. And if Bryce gets injured at some point, it will be a meltdown from those same people. If Stroud ends the season as the better QB, you don't think panthersGOATfan isn't going to come back in some iteration? I mean, there are already people saying Bryce needs to be basically perfect based on what we spent to trade up for him, and anything less than a record setting performance will be considered a failure.

I think you could count on one hand the number of fans here who would be happy if he has a bad game. As far as injury every fanbase will have a meltdown if their franchise QB is injured. Well fair or not there are high expectations for a number one pick. And we didn't just fall into the top pick we moved up. Different people have different standards. And truth be told going even further this is all child's play compared to the hate Cam Newton got even when he had our franchise contending and made us relevant instead of an afterthought. He was repeatedly made to be the villain in the media too. Bryce Young isn't going to get that treatment. So long as he has this franchise on a competitive path only a few knuckleheads will have anything negative to say about him. I'm just going to enjoy the ride who knows how long it will last.

There's a bunch of S2troud stan size queens just waiting so they can scream I told you so.  Can you believe another fanbase having as much affection for another team's QB as the  love here for S2troud?  Some are the same ones who were hoping and cheering for losses.

Some of us are just fans hoping the teams does well, even if Panthers don't do what we wanted the to.

Some of ya'll are compensating for something 😬

I feel nothing but sympathy for anyone still holding on to a beef back during the pre-draft process. It's no way to live.

No beef. You just chose the wrong one back then. Its alright

Yeah I never understood people like this. If we think we got the right guy (which I think we did) why are we so concerned about another rookie QB. Getting excited about a rookie having a bad preseason game is odd and very premature. I questioned some of our posters freaking out about Young’s scrimmage INT, but I’m not sure these Stroud haters are any better. I hope Stroud, AR, and Young all have great careers. It’s better for the league.

Everyone has an early favorite early in the draft process there were things to like and cons for both top QB prospects but once the draft neared within 2 weeks the obvious became clear. When the pick was made I was fully on board. That's what adults do. Sports aren't that complicated. I hope our new QB has a solid game today and the offense shows us flashes that give us hope for a fun season 🫡

I guess I did too, then.

That said, I won't take any pleasure in seeing Stroud fail if that happens. The only thing that would give me any consternation would be Stroud succeeding and Bryce not.

    • Fair, sure.  Still not worthy of the #1 pick and still has major issues.  And you absolutely have to be concerned that for bryce to make a nfl caliber throw the conditions have to be optimal around him.  And those sacks around the 10 minute mark are just brutal to watch.
    • But his arm wasn't destroyed due to his throwing motion, it was from essentially two hits / injuries.  Tackle to prevent a pick 6 due to a lazy Benjamin route in 2016.  That was the start of having to be on a pitch count in practice.  2018 TJ Watt hit after Cam had already adjusted his mechanics and was having his best year statistically speaking, although I remember even that year questioning if he can still sling it deep.
    • Arm elasticity and arm strength are not the same thing.  There are some who have great arm strength but can't deliver off platform throws, sidearm, etc,  due to lack of elasticity.  I am concerned about Bryce's arm strength to deliver the ball when the anticipation throws aren't there and you simply need to fire a ball into a tight window.  Not sure that can ever be part of this game.  He does have good arm elasticity which is what made him special in college, throwing the ball on the move, that should serve him well in the NFL especially when he gets outside of the pocket.  My biggest concern is standing in the pocket, pressure in the face and not being able to set his feet will affect him more than others due to his height and arm strength.
