I think the over reactions would have been minimal if Reich and crew would have referred to the team as "young" or a work in progress or something along those lines but on many occasions they referred to the team as being "special".  Now unless were talking bout little bus special, imo that was meant to mean a good team.  We got more Little bus special saturday than we did good team special.

On Friday Reich specifically said the team wasn't at the stage other teams are at in readiness and needed to play starters in preseason

To all the overreactors out there, it's incredibly important to put this first preseason game into some perspective. Bryce and the starting OL only played 11 snaps. We were missing Corbett and Sanders which will not be the case for most of the season. Thielen, Chark and Mingo all played less than the 11 snaps Bryce played. And even still there were only a few actual bad plays from the starters (Bryce overshooting Chark due to pressure, Laviska messing up his route, and the final sack). Even aside from the usual pre-season vanilla stuff, etc. it's really impossible to draw any conclusions whatsoever from a mere 11 snaps. Put away the pitchforks, playoffs are still on the menu

PFF grades for the oline (ouch):

29. LT Cameron Erving: 47.5
30. LT Larnel Coleman: 46.9
31. TE Hayden Hurst: 43.9
32. LT Ikem Ekwonu: 43.4
33. G Michael Jordan: 34.3

Ickey struggled, uncharacteristically, but again it means nothing with a sample size of 11 snaps. That's part of the reason I'm not concerned, Ickey isn't going to play that poorly this season. At certain times of certain games sure, pretty much every player is susceptible to short stretches of poor play. But over the course of the season I expect him to be a top 10 LT. The others aren't starters so just need to stay healthy and get Corbett back ASAP.
