If you want to be peeved over the OL woes, by all means, it's an issue. The one area that we thought was safe and secure has looked awful thus far. Campen not being a new coach and most of the OL intact only makes it stand out more.

Outside of that, I'm not concerned. 90% new staff, several veteran coaches combined with young, aspiring coaches, a completely overhauled starting offensive personnel group, transitioning from a 43 to a 34 base, lots of new faces on both sides of the ball and a rookie QB at the helm.

Yes, we've looked bad through two games, but there needs to be a bit more patience. Especially when a veteran HC says they've purposely run a stripped down version of their gameplan so far.

Nothing wrong with being concerned, but some folks need to step off the ledge. I also think some fans thought we were going to walk out there and win the NFCS without any adversity or challenges early on. Manage expectations folks.

Rome wasn't built in a day and we overturned the dumpster fire that Rhule left behind quite a bit so far. It's going to take at least another offseason to wash that stink off, get Bryce the weapons and protection he needs and give Burns and Brown some support up front.

stop categorizing the season.

"ITS JUST PREASEASON"

"IT'S JUST WEEK ONE"

"IT'S ONLY WEEK 2"

"IT'S ONLY WEEK 3"

"IT'S ONLY OUR 28TH SEASON"

be better.

It is just preseason.

And it will be just Week 1.

I've mentioned it a couple of times already. You won't get an accurate sense of what the team truly is until around midseason. If you doubt that, just look back to a couple of years ago when we started 4-0 when were talking playoffs.

Every single season there are teams who start off looking bad but finish strong and other teams who start strong but fade. This year will be no exception. If you can't see that, or can't handle it I can't help you.

My only hope is that we fall into the first category, but I'm not putting any lofty expectations on anyone given the circumstances.

Talk to me next year...

Let me guess, you also settle for mediocracy in ever other facet of your life too?

Reasonable take.  This year was all about progression.  Having unreal expectations and then bitching about it is completely on you.  A satisfactory year in 2023 is not about wins and losses its about implementing and improving on defensive and offensive schemes and improvement by our young players

Nah 😄

I'm a big fan of maturity though, and that isn't what's being shown here.

Ditto patience. Football season is a marathon, not a sprint.

Preseason is basically stretching and warming up before you run.

the personal attacks on me vs attacking this shitty franchise, coaches, players, etc says a lot about you.

I don’t know you personally my guy. I’m responding to the novella you just wrote about some scrimmages

I can’t believe they charge people to watch teams practice for real games but now I see why. There must be enough fans like you who don’t see a difference.

    • Appreciate that, bro!  And I could definitely see that with Cam.  Even though he’s a little younger than me, he is also someone I admire and feel a kinship with for a lot of various reasons. Funny enough, a few years after that encounter with Steve, I went to Charlotte with one of my friends whose brothers owned a moving company at the time.  He dropped me off uptown and went to work the day with them where I would wait until he got done and then we were gonna go to the Bobcats game that night.  So I walk all through that area for hours.  After awhile, I walk back towards the arena and sit in a bench on the backside of the arena, where the practice court and player’s entrance was.  As I’m sitting there, I look up and almost think I’m seeing things - I squint and blink my eyes a couple times just to be sure, and yes…  it’s one of my childhood heroes, Muggsy Bogues walking across the crosswalk and into the arena.  I think he was coaching the Sting then, iirc.  Part of me wanted to just say, “Hey!  Muggsy!  Thank you for the inspiration and memories!  You were one of my favorite players as a kid!”  But, I just watched him walk by and into the arena and thought, “that was cool!”  I also so Miguel Cotto a couple years back while in Orlando and told my kids who it was but didn’t say anything to him.  I think somewhere in my subconscious, that encounter with Steve really made me feel like the gamble on finding out if they’re receptive to interaction just isn’t worth finding out.  At the end of the day, no matter if they’re receptive inspired us or were a hero, unless they initiate it, I likely never will…  because again, they’re humans just like us.  Not anymore unique or special, they just have a highly visible and very public job that we get to watch and in some ways participate.  So, I just appreciate it for what it is.
    • I'm pleasantly surprised they gave it to Bryce Young over Josh Allen. Finally we're getting some respect. Now I'm just hoping the team follows this up accordingly and doesn't lay another egg.
    • What weird blood red moon has cast its spell?  What’s next, dogs and cats sleeping together? Bonus question:  Did Canales open up his playbook or did Bryce find an extra high gear in his stick shift?
