You mean when he was on the sideline for at least one of the Mike Even's bombs?  Where was his help last year?  YGM?  Or are you referring to his pass coverage that Wilks and Snow?

He was single covered why would he need help?  But the answer to the question was burns was bad vs TB.  PFF - 55

Add to my previous post

so that article, puts him in the 2nd tier of pass rushers....and not at the top of that tier.

and behind Reddick.

Last year PFF had....

Troy Hill as the #4 CB in the NFL, Erick Rowe as the #7 safety in the NFL, Perryman as the number 8 LB in the NFL, YGM ranked ahead of Burns.....

That's the hill or metric that I'm willing to die on.....  #keeppounding.... data

The problem is if he then goes and balls out this year, puts up 15 sacks, we’ll have to make him the highest paid defensive player in league history to be able to keep him.

The odds aren’t good that he’ll suck in the new system, particularly since he’s still going to just be rushing the passer on most snaps.

Better to lock him up now and maybe over pay his CURRENT market rate than risk having to pay market rate next offseason, which will 100% be higher if he has a good year.

We turned down 2 firsts for him, have to lock him up long term on a deal that doesn’t make him the highest paid defender in the league

I mean, sign me up for the version where he balls out ans keeps doing it. The money will get figured out.

Put Burns next to these guys and see what he does...

Reddick didn't just get the passer in Philly though.

He did in Carolina the year prior.  He did it in Arizona prior to that.  He has consistently gotten to the QB more at every stop.

and everyone keeps talking about Bosa money.  Burns isn't Julius Peppers.  He isn't a do everything DE.  He is a pass rushing specialist and people should be talking Reddick and the likes IMO.

I think bringing up Peppers is sort of relevant.  I don't think it is Burns hate to acknowledge Burns isn't a Peppers caliber DE.   Burns is more of a passing rushing specialist variety of DE.  And there should be a pay difference between the 2.  Bosa falls more in the tier Peppers once occupied than Burns IMO.

That’s not what I’m saying at all.

So, now it's hate on Burns day.

This place blows ass

nah, people twist things up and call everything hate.  Burns is awesome.  Doesn't mean there shouldn't be a limit on what the team pays.

The huddle historically has begged for most of the contracts we later have spent years complaining about.  Almost every deal blasted around here was once endorsed here.

I wasn't attempting to portray that as an echoing post.  You happened to bring up Peppers.   And I was then using Peppers to make my own point.  My bad if that wasn't clear.
