In Brady's first season as a starter, which was also his second year in the league, he had 2,843 yards, 18 TDs, and 12 Int.

The Patriots won those early championships because of their defense, not because Brady was Brady yet, the second set of rings was because of Brady being Brady.

We are just going to ignore the 4 GWD in Brady's first 6 playoff games including 2 SBs? He had 3 GWDs in the 2001 season too. Remember, this was about what a young inexperienced QB could do with little to no talent surrounding him on offense.

Delhomme had 7 GWDs in his first season as a starter, and he had a GWD in the playoffs that year too that led the Panthers to the SB against Tom Brady.

Bryce Young had a GWD opportunity in week 1 with a 10 -10 game going into the 4th quarter. Desmond Ridder out performed him. Young went 0-4 on 4Q drives. 2 of those drives were 3 and outs. How many of these will you accept? What's your cutoff for an NFL QB with the game on the line in 4Q?

A team has 6 to 8 of these GWD opportunities per season that a QB has to be prepared to win. The Panthers went 1 for 7 on GWD opportunities in 2022.

Anyone serious on getting a championship QB doesn't just let a QB whiff on these. There is always a line that QB can never cross when it comes to tanking in the 4Q. Otherwise, you're just apologizing and accepting mediocrity.

Anyone serious about watching football isn't going to try and compare the first game of a rookie on the road to Tom Brady's 2nd and 3rd season's playoff runs, literally just nonsense.

Guess that's what I get for feeding the trolls

He's been on this site for years mostly as a ride or die Hurney Stan who insists that we would have won multiple Super Bowls if we had had him post-2012 instead of Gettleman.  Now that we've all seen Hurney come back and then get fired all over again he's switched hobby horses to talk about how Aqeel Glass is the next Patrick Mahomes and he totally called Brock Purdy being a good quarterback.

I think it actually is Marty, seriously!!

Also, worth noting if you want to scrutinize his completion %…..Young had 8 throwaways.  Only 1 QB has had more in a game since 2006.

Bryce Young is a point guard distributor.  If you got a problem with Young…..you really don’t.  You got a problem with the folks around him.

I've got a problem with spending 5 premium picks on a player that apparently needs a stellar supporting cast to succeed.

So which is it huddle?

Are the Panther WRs too slow and cannot get separation so we need to run more routes horizontally or should Bryce just have changed the gameplan and called "Go routes" every play like we were the 80's Raiders?

Its all about the Vibes!

We have at least 3 WRs that run 4.4 or better. I'm not buying that it's a slow corps.

The ceiling is concerning. AR looked about 2 years ahead of what people were expecting from him and he's like 21 years old. Elite qb mind and greatest coaching staff ever payed for looked really mid

The combo of stechein and AR would have been fun.  Too bad he had a bad zoom interview whatever that means

Issue with him is really the issue some people were crying about Bryce.  Will he hold up.

People get so hellbent over a listed measurement on paper.  And not how the player plays etc.

Even though Richardson is massive.  The way he will be utilizing isn’t a good mixture in this sport.  Bryce made it through a NFL game unscathed, while Richardson couldn’t make it through 1 NFL game without being hurt.  Steichen’s offense with him running,  he’s going to take some shots.

No issues with that post at all but I watched just about every play on sunday and yeah he had some wtf overthrows but he also had some holy poo plays.  Just saying if I am an INdy fan I am super stoked as well with the coach/qb combo.  The fact that he got AR up to speed that fast is impressive.

This isnt a knock on what we have because I think ultimately we will be fine but it will be interesting to see how the colts do as they went completely in a different direction then us both with the coach and qb

As long as he holds up.

I think he’ll be the 2nd best QB in that division under Steichen

    • I am really sorry  that  happened to you they say to never meet your sports heroes i have friends who met  mickey mantle when they were young and he was a belligerent alcoholic at the time  ut broke their hearts  I had the opportunity to meet and spend  time with Cam Newton.     He was the polar opposite of Steve Smith and his public image.   Polite.  Honest when asked question.  You could tell the things that mattered to him and the things that  didnt. The disappointments in himself and the things that hurt him  those qualities make him quite a good interviewer too  i genuinely liked him   Im sure as young, rich, sports hero, he has not been a choir boy but there is goodness in him  the time i met him i took one of my friends with me from the west coast. She said she didn't like him and wasn’t enthusiastic about meeting him.  She left loving him   No one can say anything bad about ‘her Cam’ anymore
    • Agree about oline. They've tried their best to improve that area. But honestly, has it looked like the most expensive oline in the NFL to you? Not just with Bryce. With Dalton's one game where they almost got the old man killed.  Also YAC shouldn't always be hitting a guy in stride while he's running full speed. Pickens killed us after the catch and those weren't all hit-in-stride plays. I remember a play in Miami when a guy caught a 5 yards curl and took it like 30-40 yards to the house. We don't have that in Carolina. Horn might be the closest thing to that but he can't get significant PT for whatever reason. If Bryce keeps trusting his receivers to make plays, I think he'll become more consistent. Seemed like he only trusted TMac. And force feeding one receiver isn't sustainable. Defenses will start to blanket him and take him out of the game. And yeah, keep taking deep shots. I hate all that dink and dunk football. Hate it.
    • Dan Marino sucked too I guess. Washed up Elway carried by Terrell Davis was actually better than prine Elway. Lol
