CMC could be MVP

We already learned in 2018 and 2019 when he was healthy that cmc didn't put this team over the top.

In San Fran he's making an already good team into a great team. In Carolina he made a shitty team slightly better and it didn't have much impact on us being a winning team vs being a losing team.

It's like the difference between us winning 0-3 games vs 4 to 6 games in the best case scenario with this current roster. All that does is lower your draft position.

And yes I'm aware we don't have a r1. But we still have 2nd 3rd 4th , Two 5ths, and a 6th rounder. If we lose all our games our 2nd rounder is almost like a 1st.

It's kind of funny to think we basically traded him for Mingo, DJ Johnson and Jammie Robinson. And not even that exactly cause Mingo was our own 2nd, not the one from SF. I'm not sure he would be transforming this team right now but he would've made a nice safety blanket when Bryce is running for his life every other play.

ideal weapon for a west coast offense and a rookie QB, absolute brilliant move to trade him for nothing

edit: yet another byproduct of the constant rotation at HC/GM firings, you stack those together and you have a strong idea of what you envision for your team moving forward. If a player like McCaffery is a fit for the vision of the staff, then you don’t ship him away for nothing/because you wanna make up for the mistake you made with the Sam darnold trade

I get what you are saying in sense as one player does not make a team but you could dump the ball off and get 5 yards almost every time with CMC when healthy. It would help Young to have not only a playmaker like that, but that type of leader.

This is also a good warning to those pounding their fists to trade Burns. Is There any doubt we trade Burns and he becomes a perennial 15+sack per year pro bowler for an actually functional organization? And then we draft the next Kony Ealy and DJ Johnson with whatever draft picks we get for him.

If your team is going 0-17 anyway that almost doesn't matter. I say go On a firesale and get as much ammo as possible to rebuild the franchise which is bigger than one decent defensive end

    • I mean it was when Donnelly was out there for two years. The rumor of Knicks getting a frozen envelope for patick ewing, among other stuff. Then there was giving the first pick which was the local choosen one lebron James to cleveland. The league/David stern found a buyer for the new orleans the first pick included gifting of the first pick, which was Antony Davis. As a hornet fan I remember he was 10000000000000000x the clear best player and the hornets drafted a role player without a jumper at #2 overall. Imagine Davis on the hornets, he would have changed the loser history for sure.   Many lotto felt fixed, or WERE fixed.  The thing is these fans are like wrestling fans, they don't care just have drama/action/entrained/etc my smooth brian.   My issue is why would the other owners allow this? Sure money and all, but after billions millions don't matter as much....they want trophies, wins, and bragging rights among other owners. If I was a owner and we had one of those "secret" meeting and they go- "Bas we are giving the clear #1 pick Davis to new orleans and you get the #2 so be happy'. I'd put the team up for sale the nano second after that BS.  I felt the same, but I left the NBA mainly cause the games were boring and lazy until 2 minutes left in each quarter. All-star games became regular season games. Yes teams/coaches like spurs with pop, Larry brown, and pat Reilly played hard. Then add in Michael Jordan being the worst owner in history, it was easy to leave.
    • IMO his issues are fundamental and not personnel wise.  He is not going to overcome that in one off season
    • I’m hoping he overcomes all this. Like I said last year, if he’s good we are good, but he’s got a lot to improve on.
