He needs a Shanahan type surrounded by elite talent. We have our work cut out for us but we signed up for all of it.

WE didnt sign up for it, Tepper and Fitterer did. fug this we poo

If you need your #1 overall QB to have elite WRs and RBs and top 5 OC/HC, then maybe, just maybe, you got the wrong damn QB.

This can be said about any QB. You wouldn’t run Drew Brees or Tom Brady in the same offense as Cam Newton or Lamar Jackson.

The overreaction to CJ Stroud’s success is kind of pathetic. Just shut up and support your young QB.

Exactly. And whats urking me the most is all these fans that switched to this narrative SOON as the games started, i mean it wasn't like they gave any other player time to adjust or play better before coming to Bryce's defense. Remember, theilen was a absolute scrub until the Seattle game and now he is useful. Just asinine backwards talk

So our QB we mortgaged the future and drafted #1 overall can succeed in an ideal situation with perfect coaching, exceptional skill position talent, and an offense that's built from the ground up up to cater to him specifically? Hmm. You know what out #1 overall QB sounds like? Any other QB in the league.

Nah we don't need recievers only routes. Young is a point guard

By the time we construct that he'd want a new deal, which he won't deserve. Rookie window philosophy is being completely wasted and that's not even considering the capital they traded away which dramatically decreases our chances of getting any cheap young help. If we had our 1st to grab Harrison jr at least there would be some optimism

The kid has a disadvantage in height, physical attributes, and arm strength. I still think he can succeed if he  has the right O.C, and a HC that will get out of the way. Let the O.C work to design a  scheme to take advantage of his accuracy and smarts.

He is the guy for at least the next three years. Design plays that roll him out and help him see the field better. He is not going to be your atypical QB. Design plays that maximize his abilities.

Reich is not the guy to achieve this. They need inventive play calling tailored to the QB they chose. Stop trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

I’ve already seen a play in tonight’s SF/DAL game where Purdy fakes to MaCaffrey and hit the FB in the flat for a nice gain on 1st down. We don’t seem to have a play like that in our playbook. I don’t see why we couldn’t use a FB/TE in the backfield to serve as an extra blocker and potential receiver.

Why can’t we use a flea flicker or reverse pass like the Lions did today? I think if Bryce could come out and start a game with some big plays and easy throw it could get him into a rhythm and get him some confidence. How often do our guys run dig or hook routes

We seem to always have 3 receivers bunched together and one receiving alone on the opposite side of the formation. They need to trash the concept.

I have no doubt a good OC could do a better job with our personnel.

More excuses for this poo QB. Bro Bryce should have never been the Pick at 1. Biggest mistake in franchise history. Young isn’t a NFL QB. Why you ask? Because people were making excuses before he was drafted and now they are afterwards when the warning signs were there the whole time.

no excuses, he’s not a NFL QB

He’s not big enough to operate outside of the spread. He needs Shotgun to give him more time to look and process. If he’s under center and dropping back, that’s cutting into his processing time which is already limited by his field vision.

So you’re saying the guy who got drafted solely for his intangibles…doesn’t actually have those intangibles? Oof

The way I feel now, is the way a team would have felt if they believed Kiper and drafted Clausen number 1.

Youngs “elite processing” should have hyped him into 2nd round, tops. Just like it did for Brees, which was his athletically superior comp.

I can’t believe all these professionals fell for this con job.

Probably. Put Bryce there and he looks like Purdy. Put Purdy here and he probably looks like Bryce.

I think a lot of what you posted is true except for one thing. Purdy can push the ball downfield if he needs to. Bryce needs to prove he can do that if he expects to succeed as a QB in the NFL.

BTW, I just noticed another nice play in the SF/DAL game. McCarthy put a WR in motion and had him run that looked like a wheel route down the sidelines. Dak hit him for a TD when he saw the 1 on 1 coverage. I think Bryce could make that throw if the protection holds up on the play.

I've been disappointed by Bryce's arm talent. I thought his arm was probably NFL average at best but it's looking below average, possibly well below average. Some guys can make below average work but it requires straight up surgical accuracy and timing and we haven't seen that from Bryce yet.

    • Nobody is giving up a 4th rounder for a backup QB And anyone who needs a starter badly enough to where Bryce would then be their starter, is such a bad team that they're not giving up a pick likely to be about pick 105ish overall, instead of just dealing with a bad QB situation for a season and then drafting one in a loaded QB draft next year. I'm looking through all the teams right now and can't think of a single one that would be willing to part with anything better than a 6th rounder. Barring injuries (and excluding the Panthers), there look to be 10 teams who don't know with 100% certainty who their starting QB will be in 2027... Dolphins, Jets, Browns, Steelers, Vikings, Colts, Saints, Falcons, Cardinals, and Rams. Of those 10...  The Rams know it will be Stafford or Simpson.  The Saints more than likely will be sticking with Shough unless he takes a huge step backwards.  So neither are giving up any draft picks for Bryce right now, just wouldn't make sense for either. Down to 8 Given their current QB situation of having multiple QBs they already need to evaluate between this year, the Browns (Shedeur/Watson), Vikings (Kyler/JJ), Colts (Jones/Richardson/Leonard), and Falcons (Penix/Tua), wouldn't be giving up a 4th (or maybe any pick) to bring in another QB to muddy the waters even more. Down to 4 Dolphins just signed Willis and wouldn't want to bring in another small Alabama QB who has struggled after just dumping Tua instead of just rolling with Ewers as the backup.   That then leaves the Steelers, Cardinals, and Jets left as it's clear none of them have any idea who their 2027 could be as of right now.  But the Steelers would for sure rather just see what one of the 2 QB's they drafted in the last 2 drafts could become than give up a mid round pick for Bryce.  Same goes for the Cardinals in taking Beck this past weekend. The Jets would be the most likely team to even consider taking him on, but I think it seems very apparent right now given them rolling with Geno and now talk of bringing in Wilson to be his backup, they're punting on QB this year to draft someone next year, so why give up even a mid round pick for Bryce?
    • Honestly I am not sure Pickett couldn’t step in for him. But I don’t see a clear easy upgrade and we are not KC with Alex Smith we are a team that hadn’t done poo for almost ten years and just made the playoffs. And looked good in the game. That stadium atmosphere on that day…. you know Tepper ate that poo up. Not one drink has been thrown in a while.  You had better make sure if you replaced him after that that you had a sure fire upgrade.
    • Makes sense. If Bryce is ass this year, we are probably drafting our new QB next draft and sitting him behind Bryce for a year
