Barnwell trade value article

Barnwell trade tiers

Good read on which players on every team he thinks would net a 1st round pick or more. His assessments seem quite reasonable.

To summarize:

Burns - 2 1sts

Bryce Young - 1 1st and change

Jaycee Horn - 1 1st

Has Moton, Ekwonu and Derrick Brown slightly missing the cut. Acknowledges that Bryce hasn't played close to that value but some team would probably give that much off his potential. And Horn is "only" a 1st due to his significant injury history. He has Surtain as worth 2 1sts for what it's worth.

I mean Bryce Young will not be traded, so no idea why he would even be listed. No one is giving up on a QB they just payed out the nose on after 5 games.

The article is just trying to assess players' values. He's not factoring in whether the team would actually make the player available. To drive the point home, he has Patrick Mahomes on the list for the Chiefs.

It's the epitome of Huddle arrogance to think as a fan you've got your finger on the pulse of the league better than a guy who spends his life analyzing the NFL. If you read the rest of the article the assessments seem pretty on cue. I think we need to acknowledge how much we undervalue our players. DJ Moore and McCaffrey are recent reminders of that.

Not sure how anyone can argue a higher trade value for Horn than Brown.

    • Canales has the problem of an amateur lifeguard. He's trying desperately to save the career of a floundering young QB, not realizing that he is being pulled underwater by the kid and that there are 52 other players who are about to be pulled under as well. Sometimes you have to let the one go to save yourself and get to the others.
    • I know it's hard to believe but there is worse QB play in the NFL currently. Cam Ward Dillon Gabriel(could be done) JJ McCarthy Justin Fields(appears to be done) It's really been quite the year for insanely terrible QB play. IDK about historic but it seems to be far worse at the bottom of the league than I recall.
    • Frank was a guy who was headed into retirement and was lured into a nightmare setup for big money. Not a victim. Ohh and he worked the owner so hard he is srill getting g paid. He chose that over the fight at QB or with the owner. Easy call  You constantly make excuses for Dave but are correct on the front office side. It's both. The DC ended Bryces career is a dead take at this point. It was the plan and they literally tried again this year when he was choking again. DC and Morgan knew what they wanted to do and what Tepper didn't allow the year before. If he wanted Young gone he wouldn't have been working on Young's technique, Tepper wouldn't know the difference. He also would have had another QB option other than Dalton who couldn't finish out a year. And he sure as hell wouldn't have repeated it this year. But he is just a HC right? It's not like a 'QB wisperer' wouldn't be consulted on resigning Dalton or what scrub they brought in... The main problem is Tepper. Dave and Dan are symptoms of that. Neither are good and neither are terrible. Both have shown recent proof they are still on the Bryce train. Dave's time is always going to be short because he was never ready and all the hype was BS. Baker wasn't fixed, he got his head out of his own arse and was put in a good situation again. If Tepper demanded a pass first approach and he allowed that to happen then he is weak AF and is worse than I currently think. Yes he has a boss but you know what the rest of us do with a crappy boss? Whatever we can think of to work that mess while planning the next job option.
