Stroud was so awesome today, but it felt like Bowles didn’t do a damn thing to switch anything up against a freaking rookie lol. I’d be livid if he was my coach and I watched that.

I mean the same could be said about Ryans for Houston ... they did nothing to stop Baker most of the game. But somebody has to win and CJ was him today.

I posted above the history of each of these players. Not one of them has ever had even a 100 yard game before this season with CJ. Both tight ends that went over 100 today had been in the NFL for five seasons before this year and neither one has ever had an individual 100 yard game. Nico Collins in two years never had a 100 yard game. These are the "playmakers". And oh yeah, Houston has no run game this season. So folks know they have to defend the pass and this is still the type of game hes capable of putting up.

The 39 points CJ scored today is 14 more than anyone else has put up on the Bucs today in a game.

Gotcha. So CJ is calling the play, snapping the ball to himself, blocking, throwing the ball to himself and then running it 75 yards for TDs. He's football GOD!

I don't care what they did before the last weeks I've been watching them. But they've been making plays that don't get made by Carolina players. If you can't see that, it's because you don't want to - or you're not watching the game. And their oline gives football GOD time to at least set his feet before getting Hulk smashed by 3-4 defenders.

I love when I post something that shouldn't be remotely controversial and this is the type of reply you get back from somebody here. How can I be accused of not watching the games when I am live posting comments here during the games every single week? Why, when I am posting factual information and stats is your reply back to me littered with exaggerations?

Nah I ain't salty at all. Some of y'all act like a QB is a team. He isn't. He's an important player on the TEAM. But still a player that is only as good as his support.

Y'all talk like y'all never played football before. Or sat the bench with googly eyes on the starting QB in high school.

This is how I know you aren't talking about me. You are being dramatic for some reason instead of just having good conversation around a topic.

I didn't say you didn't watch the game. And again, just like last a couple of weeks ago, stats don't always tell the story. When you watch the game, these are very situations for these QBs. CJ could be football GOD like y'all want, but he damn sure has better protection and receivers than Bryce. Every one of his receivers and TEs would start over everyone of Carolinas. Houstons third guy would start over Carolinas #1.

Not sure. This was in response to whoever said I had salty eyes to cope - or whatever. I don't get personal and dramatic  unless you get personal and dramatic.

so the team that is the worst in the NFL this week: NY giants. no qb, and a bad D. from playoffs to top 5 pick in less than a year. they should just shut everyone down and tank at this point and reload. they are brutal. no way they overcome the start to the year so just go pick hunting.

    • Canales up first. Guys got their legs back yesterday and started a little slow when they came out Bryce challenged them in the huddle and they responded "Dominant practice for the defense today." Praised turnovers, "beautiful hits," and being physical Praised Moehrig, Ransom, Incoom, and Jones II Confirmed playing starters. Predominantly a young team and can't pass up an opportunity. Emphasized game day routines such as nutrition, body readiness, etc. Plus it's a bunch of new guys on the defense. Bryce will start. Will play them the first two, but starters might sit for the third game depending on how practice goes that week. Nic Scourton has a mild hamstring that happened in special teams. DJ Johnson had an issue with his hip flare up and is getting checked out this afternoon. Experimenting with approach to preseason games. In Seattle they played their starters in all but the last preseason game and what Pete Carroll was looking for in terms of mental readiness to play football. Thomas Incoom has been getting a lot of work with AC Carter adding to his toolbelt. Getting better as a rusher and being physical in the run game. Looking for a consistency in response. 1pt for a win, 3pts for a TD. Defense doesn't like that, but in games if they give up one go ball the score can swing. They challenged the pass game and the run game today. Guys are getting together before, between, and after team drills to challenge each other Job of the coaching staff to set the foundation for our schemes, philosophy, and expectations of what it's like to play Panthers football. Powerful when players take that and the locker room owns it. That's when it becomes our team, their team. At the end of the day, the men on the field have to rebound from a bad play, celebrate the good plays, and keep each other in tune for a whole game. Robert Hunt is amazing. Size, talent, quickness, flexibility. Really intelligent guy that there will say himself there are technique things he needs to work on. Regardless of where players are at, there's a constant learning curve and loves that Big Rob is challenging himself with the position coach. Thinks the digital down and distance can be really valuable. Getting the information quickly will help with the flow of the game. Thought TMac looked great but there were some near misses that he'll have to get in the room and communicate with Bryce on while reviewing film. James Mitchell keeps doing right and his trust factor is increasing with the QBs. If you're right and the coverage says the ball goes there, it'll come. Had some issues at the start of camp but is trending up. Newton or Person: "It looked like today was beyond thud but short of live. What do you call that?" Canales: "No, that's thud. In my mind, that's what thud should look like. The challenge for our defensive guys is can you put your body in a position where we know that would've been a tackle." Whizzing by, tagging with two hands, etc doesn't show you whether you would've made a tackle. That's not real football. Let's the play extend because guys have to be ready to chase sometime where the ball squirts out from a pit. Can't train to say "Ah, it was a tackle" and relax but instead play with intensity through the whistle. Lathan Ransom is bringing the physical style of play that they saw on film. Has been really into the details and someone that they can count on. Has really given himself a chance to start at the other safety position. Excited for the extra energy from a game-like environment that they'll get from FanFest. Used to have four preseason games and now FanFest feels like that first one. Will give ST full speed reps to evaluate. Making plays and feeding off of the fans. Window closed quickly on the INT to finish practice. CSW baited Bryce with some movement and made a great play. Saw it from Bryce's perspective with TMac coming open. Has played all over the secondary that they can count on to speak loudly and be on the same page with his teammates.
