Why did Tepper bring Cam back?

just my own hypothesis but after spending money on buying the team, he just wants to make that money back and more. He has no idea how to or have a willingness to build a competitive football team. He just wants to make that money back so bringing in Cam and the nostalgia stuff will put butts in the stadium seats, putting money in his account. 

Eh, I think this is a bad take. If Tepper was in it strictly to recoup money he wouldn't be getting into bidding wars and handing out HUGE contracts to coaches. We can obviously question his ability to evaluate but it's pretty obvious he cares about winning.

Also false. It was the supporting cast not Cam why no back to back winning seasons. Second half '18 Cam better than anything Bryce will do.

 I think he just doesn’t have ANY feel for pro football, thus his trust in analytics. I think he bowed to the pressure of the media and fans. It certainly wasn’t a Rhule move. Joe Brady maybe? 

I think it was a total flail move. “I’m BAAAACK” gathered kindling for the resurgence seen under Wilks, but I don’t want this to be a Wilks thread.

My thought as well. It’s strange to me though. Virtually every organizational decision to that and this point you could tell had Tepper’s fingerprints on it, but this was so very different and not a Tepper type move at all. 

It’s almost humorous that Cam and Wilks have been the last 2 true unquestionable alpha BAMF’ers allowed near the team.

Rumors are things, and they grow into false “facts” if shared enough. 
 

I’d have to see something concrete. Of course a player would want a contract, but there was nothing indicating he would hold out or something.

This is!! He was ready to make his mark by jettison Cam!! But the team was struggling so he brought him back.. IMO too many egos in the house Tepper, Rhule and Cam was the odd man out!! P.S. ..Fitterer is spineless!! We wanted Stroud and he folded!!

      But yeh,  Bryce is the only problem on this sorry excuse of a team. You could put Tom Brady on this team and we would still suck . Worst part is Tepper and his various band of clowns have been trying to build a competitive team for 7 freaking years and are no closer now than when it all started.

      Regardless of the trade and where he was picked, Bryce actively created deception. He wore a hoodie to the combine and was 15 lbs heavier because he packed on water weight because he didnt weigh near 200 lbs. He didn't participate in drills in a wide open 4 way, really 3, QB bid. Then there was all this hype over the S2 test that he had been practicing that we've never heard about in the draft process since. Does anyone think it was an accident Stroud's score on the S2 was released? Stroud said forget the score, watch his tape. Wonder why. There was a whole bunch of shady poo going on surrounding Bryce pre draft, and I for one, find it all a little too convenient.  Just my opinion, but he was a used car salesman that used some armor all and a wash n wax and maybe a set of white walls then schmoozed his way at dinner with Dave and Nicole and sold them that he was a super savant.  There was a whole lot of BS swirling around the BY hype train and he was a full fledged participant. Frank didn't want Bryce, he wanted Stroud. A new head coach does not pick a QB he has to go design a brand new offense around unless that guy is a generationaltalent, which Bryce was most definitely not. He picks the guy that best fits what he does and that was Stroud. This was Dave and Nicole's pick and they fuged this team like they've done over and over again since they've been here. They fell for use car salesman Rhule, then used car salesman Bryce and company. And the fans got stuck with the 4 years of payments on a car less reliable than Al Bundy's Dodge.
