No one is mad that Young is starting over Dalton. Not only was Bryce taken number one, but we gave up another number one, a number two, and a play worth a number one. You almost have to give him experience. Hell, I don't like it either but there is no point in cutting bait right now considering everything is guaranteed from the picks given to his salary.

I bet you would be surprised of what you would hear if you were a fly on the wall around his teammates.

The Lions are a good example. When Campbell got there everyone was pushing QB QB QB. Start there. But their roster was so bad they’ve kind of done the opposite. Sewell, Hutchinson are legitimate culture changing players. We have no one like that. They’ve built up the rest of the roster and are now 8-3 still with Goff. Ideally you build the roster well enough. He starts improving and you can win with him in the right system. If you decide one day he can’t take you all the way then you go all in on another QB with a legitimately good roster in place.

But right now the priority is adding talent. Everywhere

Maybe. I'm not out there getting hit by a Mack Truck one day a week so I don't know. But from a personnel development aspect, you can't bench Bryce.

What you can do is change the offensive philosophy to protect him and protect the offensive line. Heavy run and heavy play action passing game. FORCE him to learn to play under center.

Ride it out and build a better offense around BY … Winning games right now means nothing… Just try to save the major investment you’ve already made..

Continuing to lose games could shore up the Bears.

Imagine a world where the off-load Fields for three 2nd round pics and a future 1st, get Drake Maye, get Marvin Harrison Jr. hire Ben Johnson as their HC, and now have DJ Moore to go along with the best receiver in recent history, two generational talents to go along with a generational talent as a head coach.

Bears could be set for a decade. And that means if we ever hope to win, we have to go through them.

Gotta ride out the season with Young. If he still looks like Teddy 2 Gloves-lite…then I’m heavily considering trading back into the 1st for a QB I like in this draft (if I’m the GM/coach. Bare minimum, we need to take a flyer on a QB somewhere in the draft. Maybe a Howell with good tools drops in the draft.

This kid, at the very least, needs competition in camp.

You don’t have a QB until you do. That was my argument to keep Corral around as a backup option. I was wrong on that player, but I do think it’s the right call to have another young signal caller around to develop.

That ship sailed when we refused to trade Brian Burns.  By trading Burns we could STILL have Bryce, AND our picks AND another #1 pick AND DJ Moore.  The stupidity of not taking that deal is just staggering now.

This franchise is a real circus.  I was already leaning towards  doing a 180 and rooting for Washington again, as I did for nearly 30 years prior to Snyder. Tepper couldn’t pour piss out of a boot with the directions on the heel. The drafting of Bryce and the clown show that has followed has me rooting for this franchise to lose every game.  This is without question the lowest point in this franchises existence.

So he can never be benched? No matter what, no matter how bad he plays? For how long? He wont be very popular in the locker room that's for sure.

If we hold our trajectory and give the bears the #1 overall pick that is going to be the ultimate embarrassment and will continue to be talked/laughed about for years.  I for one would like to avoid at all costs setting the fuging bears up with that type of draft capital.  But thats me

Just imagine if Stroud continues to play like a future HOFer and then the Bears somehow defy all of their history and land another QB at #1 with our pick who looks really good as a rookie while Bryce continues to look like a guy who just doesn't belong on an NFL field. Tepper gonna be like

I’ve said for several weeks now, but I think the line just basically gives up now because they know Bryce sucks. I know people will say that’s crazy, but when you know there’s little chance that your quarterbacks going to do anything positive, you just kind of throw your hands up. I have no doubt some of them are talking poo.

So….

At this point they still getting a top 10 pick..

Im not making decisions to just be petty to the Bears..

We also want a high 2nd round pick right??

The kids got to play and take his lumps… If he doesn’t make it it is what it is.. But nothing is gained by playing Dalton who for sure isn’t the future of this team..

Don't agree that any experience is positive for a player. Up until recently the norm was sitting rookies and letting them learn. Dalton is a veteran and can run the offense better. Having a rookie quarterback play some and then watch some and then play some more is ideal if the backup can teach the rookie a lot. This is exactly what we have. Young is regressing not progressing. Doing more of the same is David Carring him. A change right now makes sense with a focus next year to building around him. You aren't giving up so much as readjusting and giving him time to watch and learn.  Meanwhile you change the scheme for Bryce. Our current scheme fits Dalton better than Bryce.
