Reich is a trashcan of a coach, but we don't have to make up stuff to prove our point.

true, I stand corrected.... but the bulk of his wins were under Rivers and Luck... 2 qbs that force wins that really arent due to coaching...

Now THIS is absolutely correct.  They held the Offense together and they had a good defense, those 2 things will produce wins as long as you don't get in the way.  Hell it was the Rivera Method with Cam and a dominant defense.

The idea of Reich being "broken" from some of his prior experiences actually make a lot of sense. As mentioned before, some of his choices here were just baffling.

Also, his statement that the job could be considered desirable if it comes with a 6 year guaranteed contract is consistent with what's been said elsewhere.

And McAfee's final comment is correct: Tepper still has to make the right choice.

Youre right scot, its similar to what adam put out. 

I wonder how his energy levels were during the hiring process??

How did tepper and fitt not see it?? 

I know not many 70 some old coach cannot have pete carroll PED/meth energy........just matt rhule fooled them and now frank fooled them as well....

This makes a lot of sense, but it also goes against what a lot of people are saying about Tepper making uninformed decisions etc. It seems like it is the opposite, he listens too much to other people. So the upside is that when he figures out who to listen to, he is open to their input.

My biggest complaint about Jerry Richardson was always that he trusted the wrong people (Marty Hurney, in particular).

It's a similar issue with David Tepper, but almost like he doesn't know who to trust. Odd given that he was around some great football minds in Pittsburgh.

It may make more sense to keep Fitterer as he seems to be very connected in the league and you ultimately need someone to handle the financial side of the roster. But our coach should have say over the roster composition so that the scheme will mesh with the players. I think Jim Harbaugh would be a good fit as he is a strong personality, his scheme would fit our existing roster more closely and matches our historical identity, and he can build the roster in his image and let Fetterer handle negotiations. Every personnel decision including trades should be Harbaugh’s final decision.

      When I say "average NFL WR", for me, that's comparing him to all WRs in the league during that season/span of time.  He was of course better than those #4-6 WR's that can't even get on the field, but talent/ability wise, he probably wasn't any better than a #3 WR for most NFL teams, he just happened to be on one of the teams in 2019 with even worse WR's so he put up solid stats for the season. Here's more or less how I'm looking at it. Take T-Mac right now and Chark at his best, put them on every NFL team at this very moment, and where would they fall on the depth chart come Week 1 (basically, the teams that don't put the rookies at #1 to "make them earn it in camp" don't count, it's projecting week 1 depth charts). T-Mac would be at worst the #2 WR on the majority of teams this season, (hell, he's likely our #1 at this very moment right now already), peak Chark would not.  Yes, T-Mac still has to prove himself at this level, but his current ability, even as a rookie who hasn't played a snap yet, would have him above Chark on any team's week 1 depth chart. Because again, you can't just fall back on "well Chark had a 1,000 yard season" and use that as the reason for having him above T-Mac.  As he didn't have that 1k yards because he was a beast, it was because he was the only halfway decent receiving option on a bad team that was always losing and passing the ball (the Jags had the 7th worst scoring differential that season).
