Pretty much this.

He didn't actually do on the field work to impress. Instead of was a dinner, slick talk, and paper resume that worked. 

Based on s2 reports surrounding Young, he knows the value of studying for the exam. Bet Bryce and his team did a similar prep to get ready for dinner with the Teppers and FR to equally impress the hell out of them so he would go #1. 

Then again can we blame him. Goal for players is to get paid #1, perform #2. Cause at the end of the day, regardless of the squad tepper and conget paid cause NFL is a money printing machine for owners. So the players got to take take of themselves just like the owners.

Sucks we were the gullible team that got swindled. Let's hope the Teppers decide to find a true head of operations and stay out of the personnel decisions.

When we played Tennessee he made three or four throws effortlessly that Bryce hasnt made all season.

...unfortunately they succumbed to the group think position that the "football people" should have complete control -- and in this case, the "football people" were UNANIMOUS on picking Shorty 🤦‍♂️.

Big Willy has a self absorb centred issues that would not listen to anyone who doesn't know what they are doing. Same issue as Josh Rosen and will likely follow the same path as him. Bryce treat others with respect like humble pie and never brag that his s2 score is so high over anyone else. That's why Bryce is a winner!

Well, in fairness, the fan base doesn't know any more than the experts do.  Although, it sometimes seems as if they don't know any less either.  

Picking a player, especially a qb, is a crap shoot, of that there is no doubt.  

Just look at the draft with Trevor Lawrence.  It was touted to be one of the better draft classes for qb's.  Lawrence is decent, maybe good with a great team around him.  But the rest of them seem to be wasted picks.

      Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.

      I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
