Yep - everyone makes mistakes. He made some big ones, but owned up to them and put out a book that has helped a lot of marriages. Excellent leadership!

I’m sure he owned up after he got caught. That’s how this plays out 99.9% of the time. That’s not leadership

Leadership is absolutely picking yourself up after failure and correcting mistakes. Leadership is also being willing to admit failure and teach others how to learn from your mistakes. It takes a tremendous amount of courage to do that.

It absolutely is leadership. Leadership is admitting you made a mistake and putting in the steps to ensure it never happens again. It’s also a clear stage in repentance. Though, don’t worry I won’t go too far down that road.

Guy seems like a straight shooter unlike Rhule and still hungry unlike Reich

I mean if you can admit to your wife, and the book reading public that you’ve been raw dogging side chicks for basically your entire marriage, then I have no problem believing you can and will be completely honest with your coaching staff and players.

Does anyone else get a Steven Furtick vibe from Canales? I find it unsettling and off putting, but I think maybe it’s a generational thing. He’s a millennial coach, coaching Gen Z players, so he’s on a completely different wavelength than I’m used to.

Owning up to past mistakes, taking responsibility, and correcting them sounds like integrity to me?

There's also a big difference between "I can't control my alcohol and porn consumption, so I don't do it" vs. "I can't handle my alcohol and porn consumption, so nobody should be allowed to do it".  I get the former vibe from him.
