I have said it for a while Culpepper would fit right into our offense. If you can get him for a reasonable price I think he would be an excellent Backup. I think Troy Smith would be a good choice as well because even if Moore stays healthy and is effective, Smith could still be very useful in the wildcat and/or trick plays.

I love what Moore has done so far but to go into next season with such an unknown next season is foolish and reckless. I think Smith has starting caliber talent and is young. But we would have to give up a 5th (which we don't have this year) for what is essentially a 1 deal for a trial season.

I think its worth it because I can say with reasonable certainty that either Moore or Smith would develop into a very good starter for us. Nothing wrong with increasing your chances. You know what they say "Don't put all your eggs in one Basket" (look what happened when our FO did that this year, cost us 12 mill).

I have said it once, I will say it again. The Panthers will sign Kyle Boller. Mark my words....Fox and Hurney love him!

I actually agree... He didn't seem to play that bad with the Ravens and it isn't like he is going to start for us

and it was rumored a few years ago that they were willing to trade for Boller

so if they stayed high on McCown then I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same with Boller

    • in starts, he has played better, been more efficient and outproduced Bryce by virtually every statistical metric that exists in 2025.  And has the 2 head to heads over Carolina.  I mean, your jaw should hit the floor.  But not for the reason you are implying.  That freaking stings.  Denying these realities isn't going to help the Panthers build a better team going forward.
    • He is basically having a polar opposite rookie season than Bryce. 4-3 as a starter on a very bad team.  68% for 237 passing yards and 19 rush per game. 9 TDs,  6 TOs in his starts.  and folks acknowledge the surprisingly play because no one thought poo of the random 2nd rounder and he is player better as a rookie thus far than so many prized picks did as a rookies (not just Bryce but a boatload of dudes).   It's only a sour issue to give someone props because he is a Saint and of course the Bryce thing.  It's like giving the TE in Clev props for having near identical production as the chosen one Tyler Warren.  Fannin is having a great rookie season in a very bad spot.
    • This is a very weird take. The reason Shough doesn't deserve it is because he's only started 7 games. He's doing crazy well for a rookie and out playing plenty of vets with a worse roster. He's waaay above league average in a number of categories during his starts and he passes the eye test in game by making plays. Meanwhile Bryce Young had one of the worst rookie seasons of all time. Still TMac deserves it more. It's only been 7 games for Shough so he doesn't deserve any awards. Even if he gets to 9 he doesn't.
