Burns to reality?

Jones to KC at 31M per year

Madibuke to BAL for 25M per year

Do you think Burns is ready to play ball?

28-29 is the tops he will get.  I would only go that high if there was an out after year two or three.

140M over 5 years with 90M guarantee should get it done.  I'm pretty confident this is all on Burns.  If he can't agree to a contract by Monday I really wouldn't be surprised to see him traded before FA truly begins.

By tomorrow you should see:

  • An extension for Moton (4 years)
  • Terrance Marshall Cut
  • Ian Thomas Cut
  • Bozeman restructure or cut (bring him to a reserve lineman's salary)
  • Shaq extension (2 year cap savings)
  • Dalton traded
  • Vonn Bell restructure or extension (cap savings)
  • Xavier Woods extension (cap savings)
  • Tommy Tremble extension (cap savings plus he is young and cheap)
  • Shy Tuttle base salary restructure
  • Something done with Corbett's cap figure

FA Targets:

  • Damien Lewis (G) Seattle
  • Robert Hunt (G) Miami
  • Dane Jackson (CB) Buffalo
  • Kristian Fulton (CB) Tenn
  • A.J. Epenesa (DE) Buffalo
  • YGM (OLB) CAR
  • Frankie Luvu (LB) CAR
  • Gabe Davis (WR) Buffalo
  • K.J. Osbourne (WR) Minn
  • Donovan Peoples-Jones (WR) DET

Sneaky move:

try to trade for Steven Gilmore's brother out of Detroit for a late round pick.

26 mil a year take it or leave it

I was here a month ago, I’d go 28 with the cap increase. I just think he’s gonna be hard headed and try to play a card that if a DT is getting 31 he should get at least 30

I get the premise extension and cap savings, but we aint winning poo any time soon so I would just rather take our hits and get out from under the bulk of those contracts.  Hopefully, there will be a time when it would be helpful to have a bunch of room to make a big time signing that may put us in a playoff type position.  Continuing to pay the players that we arent winning with doenst make sense

Chris Jones got 31 and he's a top 3 defensive player no matter the position then Burns should realistically expect less. If he wants 30 mil he can kick rocks.

I'm tired of this Burns talk we need to make a decision and move on.

He isn't worth a long term contract here and trading him for anything is the best outcome. Spend that money elsewhere and take any picks they can get. I wanted to keep Moore but Burns isn't that. Hell I would have rather kept Reddick than Burns.

what was Fitterer doing, besides drugs?

I also do not think Burn's market value goes up because the cap did.  The problem with the cap is that it makes only a few players very wealthy.  I would listen to offers, play him on the cap figure.  He will lose 3 million doing that.  If he tanks again and protects his investment, he then has 2 seasons of underperforming--costing him much more $$.  If he plays well, tag him again.  So we have Burns at a deal LOWER than what is proposed here for 2 years.  Throwing money at him is not the solution when we have so many other needs.

    • As a Panthers fan I know what incompetence and doubling down on mistakes looks like. The Bills are fools for not just going ahead and cleaning house. Already seen that scenario play out with Fitterer. And it will end the same way for them.
    • Ive watched every snap he has played and the dude has a howitzer  CJ Bailey is noted for having impressive, "elite" arm strength with the ability to "push the ball downfield with ease," consistently completing deep shots with high yards-per-attempt, and threading tight windows with velocity, making him a modern NFL-caliber quarterback prospect with no significant arm strength concerns, per 247Sports, The Duke Chronicle, and Trinity Road Times. He's described as a "twitchy thrower" with long limbs, capable of making difficult throws under pressure and creating plays off-schedule, demonstrating both power and placement.    Key Aspects of CJ Bailey's Arm Strength:   Deep Ball Prowess: He ranks highly among Power Four quarterbacks for deep shot attempts, averaging significant yards per attempt, showing he can easily get the ball downfield. Velocity & Zip: He delivers throws with "requisite zip," layering the ball over defenders and hitting receivers in stride, notes Write For California. Tight Windows: Bailey successfully challenges tight windows and places the ball well, even when layering it over multiple defenders, say Write For California and 247Sports. Off-Schedule Plays: He can make throws with power and accuracy even when scrambling and creating his own space, showing advanced arm talent, notes 247Sports.    In short, Bailey possesses the arm talent expected of a high-level modern quarterback, able to generate both power and touch to make all throws, say 247Sports, The Duke Chronicle, and Trinity Road Times.
    • He has gunslinger tendencies but I am telling you, I don't see a high caliber NFL arm. It's very, very average or below.
