So you saying you meant this in a positive way? Lol.

Also, not just you, I did say a few posters and this post you made put you in that category. Again, what does Young’s size have to do with anything here? The clear implication you made is that the investment is based on Young’s size. Not based on OL being the worst unit on the team last year. Not based on helping the run game. Not based on helping any QB under center next year and moving forward. Not based on the previous personnel not being able to execute the blocking scheme of the new coach. Not based on both previous starting guards coming off back to back long term injuries. Not based on being able to move Christensen to swing tackle where he may be able to execute a wide zone blocking scheme better than Ickey. You specifically mentioned Young, and only Young, as a reason we had to make investments in the OL, with the implication it was a gratuitous and unnecessary investment that would not necessarily need to happen with a larger QB.

It's neither positive nor negative it's stating the situation. Just because you don't like it being discussed doesn't make it negative.

Are we not allowed to point out the resource allocation we've made toward the offensive line?

We'll be discussing it plenty as the season progresses so maybe be less sensitive about it.

I don’t blame you. Just letting you know Juan probably isn’t doing that intentionally.

The NFL is a what have you done for me lately league. This guy played just as well as Burns last season, if not a little better considering he had more tackles and scored a TD. Is he worth 30 millions too?

Wonnum: 62 tackles, 8 sacks, 15 QB hits, 21 QB pressures, 1 fumble recovery, 1 TD

Burns: 50 tackles, 8 sacks, 18 QB hits, 21 QB pressures, 1 fumble recovery, 0 TD

There’s a few people on this forum trying to paint signing OL as a negative because they don’t like the QB and it makes absolutely no sense. Last year was the worst OL I have ever seen and you are actually complaining about signing a top 10 guard and another starter. This forum as a whole has wanted the team to take more action in fixing the OL since Jordan Gross retired, back when we had a 6’6 Greek god at QB. Now we make completely necessary signings after the worst year we’ve ever had at OL and it’s all of a sudden a bad thing because certain people are absolutely deranged when it comes to our current QB. It’s not holding his water to point out that fixing the OL needed to happen regardless of who the QB is.

we have a really good oL in 2022  & a 1st round pick at LT who is healthy year in & year out & looks to be the 2nd coming of Jordan Gross & then go into 2023 thinking that our oL is one of our strengths & not weaknesses &  move up in tbe draft to the #1 overall pick because we believe we can  insert another Qb  behind this oL & win .so who do we draft a Qb who can't play from under center & then we  put these same group of guys on an island trying to block for this new Qb who is always lining up 5 to 6 yards behind the center in the shotgun formation so he can get  his pass off easier &  protect his fragile frame from injury & then it becomes one of the leagues worse oL

so with that said anyone who doesn't think that Bryce Young had alot to do with the way this oL played in 2023 compared to 2022 is just simply choosing to ignore the obvious

I refuse to believe this is a serious post by an adult who watched the Panthers play in 2023.

okay well it's so much easier to disguise your play on offense from under center  versus the shotgun which makes it alot more easier for a defense to read the offense & distinguish between a run or pass.

now with that said you do realize it is alot harder to block a defense of course  if the defense already knows wether you going to run or pass the ball prior to the snap

anyway well i did watch I was just probably looking at some different things than you were watching during the game...just saying

What did the guy say wrong? That Bryce Young was a big part of it?

Okay first, I feel there are arguable opinions and non arguable ones on this player. Those would be the extremes: "It was all Bryce Young’s fault" is not an arguable opinion. "It was everybody’s fault but his", is not one either.

I lean to him being a major issue as opposed to a minor one, because of his position and the fact that this offense will be designed around him. That offense wouldl be much different if he weren’t here. Same goes for last year.

Going back in time to that 2023 season in question (the one Bryce non believers could not possibly have watched):

The word was Reich got on that 'you’re fired!' path because he didn’t think Young was ready and wanted him to sit. We heard about that. We saw a phantom ankle roll, an inactive, and Dalton in the game right around the time in question. But that doesn’t fit the 'it wasn’t Bryce’ narrative.

IMO Bryce Young was the Headwaters of dysfunction river. By default. Everything in the scope of this topic that happened last year, was centered around him. Because of him. For him. All that. The crap offense design was attempted to highlight his strengths and hide his weaknesses.

That is a very hard job as you will possibly see again this year. These new guys have the great advantage of knowing exactly what he is capable of which I think was a major disconnect last year. They also will not have to deal with Tepper thinking his QB walks on water and it couldn’t be his fault. Some of y’all I am not as sure about. But in general a much better situation to encounter adversity in, than last year. Probably giving Tepper way too much credit here.

Without getting into a total point by point dissertation I will definitely acknowledge and agree that the guard play last year was a major issue. The worst I have ever seen in the NFL, game in game out. That I can remember.. And Bozeman did not handle it well. At all.

But we should not make note of that without also noting that there WAS difficulty pass blocking for Young to the point that the OL coach was complaining ‘up’ about it to someone. But I guess no, there wasn’t any confusion because that would mean Bryce may have been less than what people say.

It seems like the version I remember was Campen ended up going over someone’s head. Funny thing is he probably initially complained to Reich, while at the same time Tepper was hammering Reich about fixing Young’s footwork. In season. Hard place to be.

To that, you can also say Young was justified in being unreliable to be where they thought they were supposed to protect, because he was getting hit too much. At some point it can be chicken or egg, each component was rubbing against the other, and neither was good.

Say what you want about the WRs, and I will not claim them to be NFL average or better but still, there were many times when he did not put the ball in a good place for them. Behind them a lot of times. He missed seeing them open. Plenty of times.

Yeah, I can hear you now, that will be the OL because he was so rattled all the time. I won’t claim it wasn’t a factor obviousdy it would be but I felt like this:

He was not playing the NFL open game he was playing the college open game. IMO.  It is absolutely why he ate the football on some of his sacks. I don’t know what the number is but I feel pretty safe saying that. And it goes to the idea that he did have a larger amount of ownership in the piss poor offense than his lobbyists concede.

At some point I think you have to go back to 'you are what your record says you are' and leave it at that.

    • I didn’t like this draft at all. XL, our first pick had one good season out of five and doesn’t have burst off the line.  I wanted Ladd here because I think he’d have been a much better pairing for BY9s weak arm.  We need to be an excellent west coast style offense if Bryce is gonna shine.  A burner that takes 3 steps to get moving and doesn’t separate at the line is a bad choice IMO. I don’t even want to talk about drafting a RB after having Foreman make us feel better about trading CMC only to send him packing and give Sanders top FA money last year to fall on his face.  We always try to get cute and find value.  The fact that we were the first team to take a RB (one recovering from a serious injury no less) tells you we didn’t get the memo 31 other teams got.  RB has a huge role in protection responsibility, it’s a huge reason some great backs are situational…they suck in protection.  A rookie RB helping protect BY doesn’t warm my heart.  We should have taken the top C on the board here IMO. LB and yet another project TE that’ll probably just frustrate us all for how long he hangs around seemingly doing nothing.  Then a bunch of dice rolls that aren’t changing any fortune unless it’s a complete accident. TLDR This whole draft looks like JAGs to me at best.  I don’t like the XL or JB picks at all.  Always happy to be wrong when I have a negative take.
    • I'll tell you how you should benefit from using this in a moment. However, things are alright now. You might have to be really skilled to use their find effectively. I'm not the most ideal customer when it is put alongside that condition. Here are the pros. I put my foot in my mouth. I had high expectations. We'll face up to reality. My notion is based around my assumption that nobody has a partiality concerning doing that. There is a culture that has been built around some hindrance and also you should understand how some command will impact your life. Really honestly, if you actually reckon about it, how good is that stuff? Whenever somebody experiences the doohickey, it is best that they do not hesitate to talk to a professional.    OFFICIAL WEBSITE ----> https://www.onlymyhealth.com/sugar-defender-reviews-blood-sugar-supplement-complaints-1709036624   Go Down For More Info:-   https://www.onlymyhealth.com/puravive-reviews-side-effects-and-complaints-1709979035 https://www.onlymyhealth.com/fitspresso-reviews-coffee-loophole-recipe-dangerous-side-effects-and-complaints-1710235827   https://medium.com/@lancebrum/sugar-defender-buyer-beware-heres-the-real-story-must-read-cfbe26c6a174 https://hackmd.io/@lancebrum/SugarDefender https://www.eventogo.com/event/sugar-defender-supplement-what-you-should-be-aware-in-update-2024/ https://www.techdirectory.io/new-york/adtech/sugar-defender https://gamma.app/docs/Sugar-Defender-Buyer-Beware-Heres-The-Real-Story-Must-Read-7vy0ew8b8doq9hm https://jciodev.microsoftcrmportals.com/forums/general-discussion/59f21551-e405-ef11-a81c-6045bd0b2619 https://pgccouncilcsp.powerappsportals.us/forums/general-discussion/604e7f79-e405-ef11-a73d-001dd806eee4 https://thecontingent.microsoftcrmportals.com/forums/general-discussion/5f1e49b0-e405-ef11-a73d-6045bd01c1cc https://twor.microsoftcrmportals.com/forums/support-forum/1bf52a1d-e505-ef11-a73d-6045bd3fd1cb
