WR Diontae Johnson to the Panthers

Added bonus Diontae is actually 5'10" 180 so we'll get a real world assessment of BY's size in camp. Settle the size mystery once and for all

We know his actual height from the combine.  5'10" 1/8 was the official measurement.

To put things in perspective…I was trolling a Steelers board and they are saying Donte was:

Healthy in 2023 and had one of his best years

Tackles well for his size

A ball hawk

Small but plays a lot bigger

Still runs a 4.3 40

Team guy who never takes plays off

An excellent punt returner

Charlie Day Ok GIF

I can’t be the only one that saw him get easily blocked against most runs and he is seriously injury prone.  He takes a lot of plays off and was always a liability.  Just my opinion

How many were good nfl players? 3?

Well, that's really not the point, and it somewhat speaks to my point. You don't have to be blazing fast to make it. 4.39 is plenty, especially for a receiver that is quick and has a knack for getting open. Ladd is that guy. Talk about his lack of prototypical size (he's not as small as some or as big as some), or talk about his injuries, but you can't credibly use speed as a reason not to draft him.

Needs:

  • Edge (even if we sign one--second rounder)
  • Corner (Must be a second rounder unless we sign one)
  • Wide Receiver
  • Tight End
  • Sam LB (to replace YGM)
  • Will LB
  • Center

I’d probably still go WR with one of the 2nds, but instead of C, I’d go CB or DE with the other 2nd.

True but he has made some really good open field tackles, against RBs too.

    • I sold mine when Tepper installed those soccer seats in the end zone using the Marketplace. I retired and couldn't afford the season ticket price any more. Got back what I initially paid for them in 1995. From the email I got, my guess is a family who had end zone PSL's used the $ they got to give up their seats to buy mine. Don't give up @Waldo. The upgrades coming could do the same for you.
    • Don’t get me wrong, I love Koochie. I think he could be a star. But I’m not convinced Rod trusts him. And I realize my post was confusing. I meant based on the reports of swapping Necas for Ullmark or another goalie. If we’re going to trade for a goalie I would rather use draft picks instead of lowering the value of Necas.
    • You can make a decent case that most of the starters are at-least average. But depth-wise, its awful, maybe the worst in the NFL.  The only reason they could be a playoff team, is the awful NFC south and its collection of bad QBs and coaching staffs. That changed big time when cousins and Morris arrived to ATL. Now it would take a setback to cousins, in which he currently ready to play given all the stem cells and peptides stuff he has.  In past years there was always some elite talent leftd on the 7 win rosters. Like many know theres just dbrown and a huge ? in horn. If hunt was elite, phins would have tagged him. There's no Thomas Davis, Luke, Cam, Olsen, peppers, kalil, beason, gross, Jenkins, Smitty etc on the team. Brown is great and all, but sacks and pressure wise, he's not game changing. Panthers lack difference makers, young ones. You could make a weak case for clowney, but that ravens D is stacked.  Us fans just need to hope Dan Morgan can collect more young difference maker in the next 2-3 years. If Bryce isn't that guy, 4 years before this team can sniff the playoffs.  Honestly the panthers are due some luck as well.
