I would rather get one of the other guys in the 2nd.

Could take Will Shipley in the 4th though. Very similar skillset to Rice down in Tampa.

Shipley out of Clemson does intrigue me for sure. He seems like he really could turn into a hidden gem with what I saw out of him in college. I think he may be being overlooked by many.

I think part of my hesitation in getting him is that I just want to stay away from that family. His mom just seems weird. She wants her kids in the West Coast and I think they're a family of momma's boys.

Also, I think it would be really weird for us to go after him, like we can't move on from the past.

The whole thought just makes me uncomfortable. There's just too many other good choices available that I'd rather get without the weird baggage.

Will Shipley can ball.  He terrorized Charlotte and State HS football, and had a strong career at Clemson.  Good hands, good vision and he’s always been a hard worker.  He’d fit well.

He is a year away from playing, IMO, but do not discount that bloodline.

yeah this kid would be a big question mark that you draft knowing beforehand that he is going to be a long term project

When you think about it whose not going to sandbag it here with they way this outfit is?

Luvu, Brown, Moton, Thilen, Hubbard, Blackshear, Hekker, Woods, Hill, Franklin......., etc

Most gave full effort even if they didn't play well

    • I think the qualification has changed over time though. A deep ball play used to take 4 to 6 seconds for the receiver to get to that spot on the field. Now a receiver can be there in 2.5. That's less time than most QBs have to set and throw. In my mind a deep route takes time to develop. A crossing route and a deep route can't take the same amount of time at full speed. You can have 4 deep balls on the same drive,  almost 5 if you do 5 20 yard throws goal line to goal line. That doesn't even make sense when you say it out loud.
    • The sad part is it looks manicured enough that he's aware it's running away from him.  Also, I just wanted to give you some fun loving grief on King Haynes today having a chance to throw a game winning TD, and was wildly errant, and ultimately picked off to end the game.  So happy I won't have to hear anything else about The Golden Calf of Bristol lite ever again watching college football.
    • I just think Panthers believe in Bryce far more than the fans do and he is most likely going to be the QB at least the next two seasons. the real shot of us moving from Bryce is not getting an extension, till then they are going to give him every chance to succeed and I just want to win.
